Chanie the 80s consoles will be worth something, if you have any "bits" do keep them as well as it all adds value. Any boxes, games or accessories all add value. They are just clutter though but I shouldn't moan should I as they have been a good investment. If you have a look on ebay you will get an idea of what they are worth as some are much rarer than others.
I hope they make you a rich lady one day.
It is very humid here, not that hot compared to the south east but the humidity is making it very uncomfortable. I've stayed in today but was in town yesterday and it is very busy with visitors, maybe not as busy as a normal August but not far off.5 -

On Monday it will be the 6th anniversary of my husbands death. Sunflowers were his favourite. So in his honour..........
Just had the news that Preston is going back into lockdown from midnight tonight! Strange new rules include not being able to visit houses, but it's fine going to the pub ....🙄🙄🙄🤔🤔Is it me or is this insane? 😡"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Good Afternoon everyone. Dull but warm start, got sunnier as days gone on. LL what lovely sun flowers to remind you of your late Husband. I bought some the other week in Aldi, lasted ages.Back at my gym, got 40 lengths in for 3rd time this week, plus an aqua class monday morning. I've also been walking my youngest Daughters 2 dogs whilst she works shift at a covid testing site.Ashamedly, I've been watching quite a lot of tv in the evening. There is nothing on the tv so I've been watching things on netflix, prime etc. I've watched a few series, including The A word , Last tango in Halifax, and happy valley. I am now coming to the end of Downton abbey, I am on series 6, so looking for recommendations on what to watch next if anyone has any suggestions?Enjoy the weather while it lasts!6

I agree Candy some of the lockdown rules are just crazy. They contradict each other.Hypothetical senario............. You can't go to a relatives home........if said relative owns a pub then you can visit them in the pub. 🤣🤣🤣 You can arrange to meet family in pubs and restaurants but not visit them in their homes. I'm sorry but it just doesn't seem to make much sense. At least if families visit each other at home you can operate in a bubble. They are unsure about schools reopening but are happy for people to get s##t faced in pubs .....excuse my vulgarity. 😉. But we all know what happens when people drink......they lose their inhibitions and you can forget social distancing. School attendance could be staggered so that numbers are reduced and social distancing can be observed. It's not rocket science.Open the schools and if needs be shut the pubs, restaurants and places of entertainment.Same with shopping.......you can go shopping in Primark and the like but you can't visit loved ones. I suppose you could meet them in the shopping mall 😉....... it's just nonsensical. As Maman says you can well understand why some people have given up and just "do a Dominic".I am still being careful, partly to shield DIL, but also, at pushing 70 I don't want to catch it either. It's frustrating and if I'm honest very tedious but I am just doing it. I would love to go out for a meal or visit a pub but I won't but I don't expect others not to. It's my choice but I'll be damned if I withdraw support from my family when they need me. We have discussed the matter And if push comes to shove Then I will just stay with them and go into lockdown with them. Hopefully it won't come to that.On Wednesday I went to Asda. One of the cashiers wasn't wearing a mask, although she was behind a screen. Even so I didn't go to her, I waited in a different queue. If shoppers have to wear masks (and rightly so) then shouldnt it also be mandatory for shop workers. And if she has a medical condition which means she is exempt from wearing a mask then she shouldn't be on the shop floor, she should be in a non public facing role, both for her own safety and for that of the public.I know Covid is unpredictable but surely that's all the more reason for vigilance and common sense,
rant over. 😊6 -
Did anyone see Surviving Covid - My Brother and Me. It was on BBC on Wednesday. Brilliant programme, really brought home how dangerous Covid is. I really like the documentaries the Van Tuleken brother make and I felt so sad for poor Xand.8

An update on the Preston situation: Even though I have a Preston postcode, I live right on the far outskirts, so our council has said we're not in lockdown like inner Preston!!
No wonder people are confused n peed off with it all!!"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

It was scary wasn't it, to see Dr Xand in his early 40s, big fit guy and what it did to him. I hope he is OK.5

thanks Maman........they look lovely. You are all so kind and supportive.I like the lions too. I haven't got mine on display at the moment. Mine are green and purple jade Chinese temple dogs - stylised lions. We brought them back from China.Yes I saw the programme too......it really is an eye opener. It should be compulsory viewing for all, because I don't think everyone realises how serious this virus can be.Candy......glad you're ok hun. Does your mum live near you. Are you able to see her.7
