LL you are in my neck of the woods, . where are you staying ? , Matlock has plenty of shops and supermarkets for fresh groceries, and a few places open in Matlock Bath for rides for the little one , The chippy is good in Stoney Middleton as its a quirky building , The farm shop is open at Chatsworth, also i saw a sign that the tea shop at Endsor within the grounds of Chatsworth is also open now , I can recommend the tea shop in Eyam , plenty of places for scenic outings, and the weather is going to be nice, so have a lovely time and relax, and enjoy xx The cottage looks beautiful7

If you should come on line LL, hope you're having a very Happy Birthday.
It's warm and dry here if a bit overcast so hope you're able to get out and about.
It is a lovely part of the world moll. We had a short break in the area a few years ago. I'd seen Michael Portillo on his railway programme staying at the Palace Hotel and it appealed to me and my BIL had some genealogy research he wanted to do in Matlock. The hotel was very much faded grandeur but we really enjoyed our time in Derbyshire and also fitted in Bakewell before moving across to North Wales and Shropshire. They were renovating that lovely Georgian Crescent in Buxton when we were there but I've read that it's finished now.
I've been very lazy recently. I think lockdown has become so monotonous that there doesn't seem much motivation to doing much. At the start I was going for a walk of about an hour most days but haven't been out of the house since I did a food shop last Friday. So, today I made an effort to walk to the Post Office to send my niece a birthday card. It's only about 10 minutes each way but better than nothing.
I did wash all my regular jumpers today. It was a bit fiddly as I had to do dark, light and handwash separately but they're all out blowing on the line. That's it for the drawers and wardrobes in my bedroom now so then I'll move onto the guest room and work through there. No drawers in there, just fitted wardrobes and shelves with those nylon storage boxes from Ikea

Despite all the laziness, I am keeping up with all basic fabbing, reading my book, doing some knitting, some decluttering and all the usual chores so not all bad.6 -
Happy Birthday LL.
I went on holiday to Matlock when I was younger. I remember it as being very nice.
Maman - I know what you mean about the monotony. I haven't been walking daily either.
I'm trying to have some structure to my days by reading, doing my CBT homework and watching podcasts on YouTube. Fabbing wise I did do a hair treatment and I also used my turmeric face pack today.
One "exciting" thing is that we will be getting our hair cut next week, hopefully.5 -
Happy Birthday LL, I've been in work today, was going to walk my Daughters dogs but raining here. Me and my late Husband used to go to Matlock Bath on the motorbike, always had fish and chips. Miss those days.

LL happy belated birthday. I hope you are all having a lovely time on your holiday.
Things are getting quite busy for me as social distancing is easing. The DCs various activities are starting up again so I’ve had lots of contact this week about reopening plans. DDs first holy communion has been rearranged, but we won’t be able to invite many family member because of social distancing. The good news is that I bought DDs dress and veil months ago, so we are prepared to go ahead quickly. It’s a shame for DD that she won’t have everyone there, but I want to make it special for her. DS is an alter server, so he will have a role in the communion.6 -
I heard today that beauty salons were able to open on Monday and I got really excited, but I just read that this doesn’t include any treatments related to the face. Much of what I want involves my face (facial, eyebrows etc), so I’m quite disappointed. I had some Groupon credit following a lockdown cancellation, so I’m going to book a pedicure for me and DD.I’m just watching our guru, Martin on TV and I’m interested to hear about the ‘green improvement grant’ for homes, where the government will pay 2/3rds of certain green improvements (may be of use to LL). Unfortunately, there isn’t much information at the moment, so we’ll just have to waitM but it’s worth keeping an eye out.7

Hi, I haven't been on for months as I've been ill, not Covid, and I'm having terrible problems with arthritis in my hands and arms (fingers, elbows, wrists and shoulders) not helped by my reaction to painkillers which means I just have to put up with the pain. I've heard some good things about turmeric so I'm planning on trying that.
On a more positive note I've been sorted out by hairdresser this week so look much better and I've also had a dental check up and got a gold star for the state of my teeth having had my hygienist appointment cancelled in March.
I haven't caught up with everything but I will be trying to have a read through, I am going to strictly limit how long I can be on as using a keyboard isn't good for my hands. Hope everyone is well and happy in these strange times.7 -
I forgot to say that one good thing about my current woes is that my hands actually look great. I am wearing compression gloves, I put a good amount of handcream on and rub it in well, then put the gloves on and my ageing wrinkly hands look 20 years younger. Don't think it is worth the pain but any positive is worth having at the moment. I just wear the gloves at night as they are a bit of a worry at the moment with handwashing but they do really help.5
