So beautifully organised Sugarbaby. My wardrobe is still full of winter/layering clothes with just a few tops, maxi skirts and loose trousers I wore the days the weather was hot. I started to lock-down dressing well and wearing make up and jewellery, but as I became more and more fed up (not properly depressed) my standards lowered with my mood. Big girl's knickers on yesterday and much more effort made. 2 new pairs of earrings on the way and a new blusher bought as a cheer up gift to myself. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. Yes, amazingly well organised sugarbaby. 👏👏👏
I noticed you have covers on lots of your clothes. Do you buy them on ebay? 🤔5 -
Yes Maman, almost all of the covers were bought from eBay. A few of the covers are the original cover that came with that item of clothing when I bought it new.
Even as a very young child, I was tidy and organised. I was also very fastidious about cleanliness. As an adult, I am even worse to the point that a couple of friends and some of my family believed I had cleaning OCD, which made me laugh out loud, as of course there are times when like anyone else, my home is not super clean and tidy. It is always organised though.

Quick update from me (and a product recommendation).
We have amended our holiday booking and will be going to Jamaica in Easter 2021. As we transferred our booking rather than cancelling, we got an extra £500 off. The balance isn’t due until the new year, so I we have plenty of time to pay it off.
Now for the product recommendation. Korean Italy towels are exfoliating mitts that will take visibility remove dead skin from your body. You can buy them on eBay/amazon for £5 for 6 mitts. I have been using mine for a while, but forgot to mention them.

Ooh Chanie.....how exciting. And great news on the £500 reduction.Good morning lovely ladies.Well I'm all set for our mini break. I have been to Aldi's this morning and stocked up on goodies. DS has gone to Morrison's and is doing the same. There is a mega Sainsburys near the cottage and of course Chatsworth Farm shop so even though we won't be able to eat out there will be lots of nice easy to cook food and deli type stuff. And I'm guessing some of the local restaurants might be doing home deliveries.
Had a nice beautify and pamper session yesterday so just need to pack and then I'm all set. Weather looks ok, low 20s, a few showers but nothing too worrying. The beauty of going by car is you can take plenty of clothes so I will be able to chuck in my trench coat and my waxed jacket Along with a couple of warm sweaters. And of course my hot water bottle. 🤣.7 -
You must take your waxed jacket to go to a country cottage LL, it's the law!!
I do hope you have a great time on your short break. Having meals delivered is a great idea. I know people who've done that in 'normal' times as it makes for a special meal together with no driving. It might be worth taking a flask too then , weather permitting, you could have a picnic or just a coffee sitting somewhere picturesque.
Great news about your holiday chanie. I tried in vain to book flights for next year with easyJet yesterday but although they said they'd be released on July 2nd it didn't happen. Disappointing that there was no explanation or apology on the website just 'later this month' on Twitter.
DH had an illegal haircut yesterday! He phoned his hairdresser to ask about plans for tomorrow and was invited to go round to the barber's home and have his hair cut there. He said that, although social distancing wasn't possible for the actual haircut, all the sanitising was excellent. He's had the same hairdresser for years so he was happy to trust him to be responsible.
My own hairdresser hasn't been particularly accommodating so far. They don't have an answerphone and I'd hoped they'd ring around regular customers but that hasn't happened. I rang this morning, guessing they'd be preparing, but there was no reply. I tried another branch (owner has 3 shops) and struck luckier. They gave me the personal number of my hairdresser so I've left her a message and hope she'll get back. It's foolish really as tomorrow they could have the phone ringing off the hook while they're trying to do haircuts although maybe they'll get someone in to just answer the phone. That being said, I am pleased with how well my hairstyle has lasted during lockdown. I'm enjoying the extra length.

Hello Fabbers!
Haven't posted for a few months as quite frankly not a lot has been happening here!
Thank you Chanie for the Korean towel recommendation, I'd not heard of them so watched a YouTube tutorial and have just ordered a pack from Amazon. I love how our collective info on this forum is shared and is a constant source of new ideas and inspiration.
Hope you have a wonderful holiday LL. A change of scenery and family time sounds perfect.😁
I can't wait until next Friday for my first haircut since February!!
My salon has been taking online bookings throughout lockdown in preparation for when they reopen and also ringing clients so they can be added to a waiting list. Mind you there are literally dozens of hair salons within 10 minutes of my home so maybe the stiff competition has made them be more proactive than some😉
Have a lovely weekend folks & keep fabbing!5 -
lessons i hope you all enjoy your much needed break. It sounds like you have planned it really well and have lots of options (and lovely treats to look forward to).
maman that doesn’t sound like good service from your hairdresser, but I think a lot of businesses are still unsure about the future. hopefully your hairdresser will get back to you and will be able to fit you in soon.
Im soooo excited about Jamaica. Both me and OH have Jamaican heritage so have wanted to go for a long time. I’m arranging for family members to be available to show us around, so we can avoid ‘tourist prices’. I had already bought stuff to take on our holiday that was cancelled, so I’ll put those away for Jamaica.
EDIT Lucy crosses posted. Good luck with the Korean towels. Remember, you need to have a long soak to soften your skin, before you start scrubbing.4 -
Hello Ladies,
LL I hope you and your family really enjoy your staycation.
Chanie, what a great deal on your new family holiday to Jamaica in 2021. You are all so excited at the thought of going to Jamaica and of meeting up with members of your Jamaican families, but you need to keep your excitement under control until 2021I am so happy for your family that your dream holiday to Jamaica has become reality for you all
This hot weather and warm days brings with it high pollen in London, so I have been a martyr to hay fever, which is a nuisance.5
