maman I do feel very fortunate having my hairdresser. She did me, my daughter, sister and nephew.
i have also been thinking about what I have missed during lockdown and surprisingly, it’s not much. I’ve always felt that we don’t spend enough time at home, so it has been great to not have to rush to school/work/activities etc. Besides which, I have been able to order whatever I have needed online 😉5 -
It's not exactly torture LL. 🤣
Meeting up with one group friends this week will be a start. I did check and we're OK with 5 in a garden. My other group I meet with regularly is bigger and I'd hate to have to choose who to leave out. I've seen DD1 regularly and DD2 we've kept in touch with. She phoned to speak to her dad earlier, so that's good.
The bigger groups I see regularly for dancing and other things like my art group and others aren't likely to start up again for months.
I agree about spontaneity. I'd have nipped to Asda today but I needed so little, the thought of queuing put me off.
Otherwise all is well. 😁6 -
I was on the John Lewis website to see when our local one was opening, and I spotted that they're doing live virtual masterclasses via Zoom. Some you have to pay for, but there's a Style one called "Style for Less" that apparently features the best of their clearance products, and it's free. You can also request a free personal styling session after the masterclass. Thought it sounded really good: something different to pass the time and hopefully get my fashion juices going again.

chanie you're right about how important good skincare is - my mum drummed it into me from around the age of 11 or 12 how important it is to look after your skin with proper cleansing and moisturising. I even got my DH to start moisturising properly when we met and now he wouldn't be without his face moisturiser. 😊
My sister is a make up artist and she tries all the new treatments for skin care/hair removal/hair extensions/lashes, you name it. She has been getting botox in her forehead and around her eyes for the last few years and she's 2 years younger than me. I don't think she really needs it but she's adamant that she does. I was talking to a girl in her early 20s at our work christmas do and she was saying that loads of her friends get botox and fillers and it's just normal to them. I was a bit like 😱 because I'm about 15 years older and I still think I'm too young for those treatments. 😂 Maybe I have a magic mirror. 🤔
Regarding the eyebrow dye, I have very dark eyebrows and spotted a couple of white hairs recently so that might be something I'll need to look into at some point. I just plucked the ones I spotted. I've also noticed a few white hairs on my head - I swear I never had them before having children. 😂
Maman I'm missing just browsing in shops (not that I often get the chance as my DS turns into a devil child if we set foot in a shop) and getting out to meet my friends for lunch minus the kids.
I also have a gift voucher for my beauty therapist that expires next month. 😩 I'm not sure if she'll honour it as I did have 8 months to use it prior to lockdown. 🤔 I just hadn't got round to making an appointment and was actually looking to do it in April. 😩 Maybe she'll extend it for a month for me, I'll just have to ask once she has reopened and I can get an appointment.

Sashy I have had confirmation from my therapist that they will extend my vouchers, so hopefully, yours will do the same.
ski bunny thanks for the JL tip.
We need to make a decision about our summer holiday to Spain in a few weeks. We can move our holiday for free up until the end of the month. Or, we can wait and see if we go or they cancel. We don’t want to go as the proposed restrictions will not make for an enjoyable holiday for example, having to book slots to go to the beach and swimming pools being shut.6 -
It's a difficult one chanie. I suspect that very soon the FCO will lift restrictions on flying so you would be allowed to go and I think the quarantine arrangements on return will go to. It's hard to know what it'll be like once you're there though although we should see more pictures and news items in the next week or so. Is a refund an option if the flight is on and the accommodation is open?
We've had a short walk today. Again by the Itchen but closer to the mouth. The tide was full in and the sun was shining on the water, very pleasant. When lockdown started we were taking a walk almost every day but we've got lazy. I wanted to get some flowers for my friend so we killed two birds with one stone.

Maman It looks like some holidays will be going ahead, but it’s going to be a pretty limited selection, even throughout August. Tui are due to contact us within the next week to discuss our ‘options’. Pre-corona, we decided to go to Jamaica in Easter 2021, so we may just roll over the holiday for that. The one thing I’m annoyed about is that currently, we are expected to wear face masks on the flight. Whilst I appreciate the importance of keeping everyone safe, I can’t see how they can expect children to wear face masks for a minimum of 3 hours at a time.

Things are starting to improve here. I browsed in the clothes shop but didnt see anything I wanted to try on.
I got new shoes and some new tops that were needed.
the hairdressers and gyms are opening next week. it will be great. I don't know how it will work practically.
I want to really become part of the community than my usual reservered nature.5 -
Hi fabbers,
I’m disappointed that beauty salons aren’t opening on 4th July. I had one treatment booked and was looking forward to booking a few more.I’ve had quite a busy day, declutteting years worth of paperwork. I now have a huge bag of shredding to do, but the children enjoy shedding so I will put them to work.5 -
Phew😎😎......
