£30k is an amazing achievement, so jealous 😁
If it's not adding up, compound it!
  • Thanks Grogged 😀 It wasn't massive to start with (still alarming to me though), but very pleased with the progress I've made

Hi newgirly, thanks for the tip - I would never have thought of Primark! There is a big one in town, so will go and hunt round when I can gee myself up to go down (about a 7-minute walk into town, but 15 minutes back as I live on top of a hill and can't bring myself to go back up the "down" as it's lots of steep steps - must be good for me though 😐)

  • Thats a great psychological reward for the insurance "win". I may pinch that idea myself in April.

Thanks SJ. There's £15.50 in the mortgage holding account at the moment, so hoping to save at least £9.50 so I can send another £25 off today!

Whoop, whoop! I smashed the hoped-for £9.50! Final price came in at £495.32, so have just celebrated with a £150 OP 😀😀😀 (was even more excited at one point when I had a £449 quote, but closer examination revealed I'd missed a "0" off my annual mileage 😂!) Not sure I can top that in terms of money-saving activity for the day, so had better go annoy BF instead ☺

    Money-saving activity for today:
    1) Finally got round to getting a blurry receipt re-printed so I can claim £10 of expenses 😀
    2) Gorged on pizza during a meeting and didn't need dinner 😀😀😀
