Nope, not finding the new forum any easier on a laptop....
So, my week of poor sleep was rounded off nicely this morning by BF getting up at 4.30am and faffing about for 10 minutes before going back to bed. Needless to say, he then went back to sleep and I didn't
On the subject of BF, I find it genuinely fascinating how other people choose to spend their money, but where he is concerned let's just say I am very glad it's his money and not ours! I know he finds it bonkers that I choose to spend so much of my take-home pay on OP'ing my mortgage, but still....Mind.Blown.
Anyway, after the 4.30am start it's a lazy day for me (hopefully punctuated by naps). Have done S&S, washed up, washing is on and that and dinner are about all I'm planning to achieve
£100 OP made this morning

Does anyone else wonder if they are blurring the lines between frugal and cheap? Definitely found myself falling into this trap recently, buying a £9.99 bottle of vodka I didn't particularly like, purely because it was cheaper than the £11.00 one that I do
Had to give myself a telling-off on that one
Have had the same thing this morning. Been browsing clothes on my favourite website (to give some context, not bought anything from them in over 6 months and was only looking at sale items - although ironically, I didn't think to go to their site at all until after reading on Frugalwoods about staying off your favourite sites if you don't need anything and it reminded me I haven't browsed for ages. Not sure my interpretation is what they were intending!)
So, filled my basket with £107 of stuff which should have been £334 full price, then found myself agonising over whether to go ahead and order. I'd gone via TCB, it was all at least 50% off, I could afford it, I'd been thinking about getting a new work skirt for ages, and there was no way I would be keeping all of it (I only need one skirt, not three) - so why the paralysis? I think I've just reached a point where I can't bring myself to buy anything that I don't NEED. Was it a good deal? Yes, because I love their clothes (practically the only thing I will wear) and baulk at paying full price (and I will send most of it back!) So I gave myself a talking-to and have placed the order, no doubt will agonise all over again when it arrivesMortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

It has to be a long term thing though, I’ve read some of frugalwoods and it’s great but very different from life in a city in the uk. Do not feel bad! You have done everything you need to get the best price, you are not shopping for entertainment but for what you need so enjoy 😉MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁2

I'm the same South Coast and often feel like I'm taking it too far. Life is here to be enjoyed too and the fact that we are so conscious of our spending means we can allow and enjoy the occasional splurge rather than worrying about it!Mortgage start date Nov 2014 - £90,545 over 25 years
Re-mortgage Oct 2017 - 78,295 over 23 years
Re-mortgage Jan 2020 - 55,000 over 26 years @ 1.94%

Thanks both, it's good to have some reassurance. I just need to get out of the mindset that I am poor!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Hello, just read your diary. If I may offer an opinion, you're investing in your self, which is never a wasted investment.
Instead think of yourself being future rich, you're investing in your future and being happy in your daily (and work) life today is an important part of that journey.
