It is such a good idea though SJ!
So are you televising the 'leap day overpay' a la Jools Hollands hogmanay? 😉😁
If it's not adding up, compound it!4 -
Not sure if you meant that to rhyme Grogged, but it's really made me smile!
SJ - it was a great idea! And I didn't even credit you properly, as I managed to miss-spell your username 😯 Sorry!
Mortgage payment day (I like it when it falls on the weekend, as it comes off the balance while still being safely in my bank account - feels like I am winning 😂). So the regular payment and the OP I sent earlier in the week have both been credited and I am now at £29,873.92! Very exciting to have a number starting with 2 😀 It is alarming to see how little the monthly payment actually takes off (though increasing each month now the interest is starting to fall) - though I suppose that's because the bank has got it set up to take another 21 years 😮 Imagine how much they'd make out of me in that time 😮!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Not sure what to do with myself today. With it being an "extra" day, it feels like I should just please myself and do whatever I fancy. Sadly, I think I have settled on a tour of the supermarkets, via the sorting office (hairbrushes!), which is definitely not my idea of pleasing myself, but will try and get it out of the way early doors so I can come back and read a book I want to finish. Sounds like it might actually have stopped raining too!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

I'm gonna reward myself with a bonus run to boost my February miles total. Then a big dog walk before the wind kicks in, followed by an afternoon and evening of sport on the couch. I will spend the customary daily 15mins rummaging for stuff to declutter.MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......4

That all sounds way too active - my reward was meant to be not having to get dressed and leave the house 😂Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Done so far:
* Did a tour of Lidl, Sainsbury's, Asda and the sorting office
* Divided leek tart into 4 and froze (French week at Lidl, but also a bit St David-y). Licked the knife I cut it up with and it tasted good 😂
* Found 5p in the car park when I got home 😀
* An empty credit card has offered me a 0% money transfer offer, so sat down with a pen and paper and worked out whether that would make financial sense to put into the mortgage. I'd come out MF 2 months earlier, but still have almost all of the credit card left to pay. Overall cost once the card was cleared (which would take the 2 months I'd gained from the mortgage) worked out £25 less than if I carried on with the current plan. Decided life is definitely too short to go through all that faffing and only save £25! Interesting exercise though, in my head I thought it would be much more
* Ordered mascara for collection from Boots. Would normally just go and buy in store, but thought I'd check and see whether they were on TCB. They were, and had an offer on for 10%! So 3x mascaras ordered, £9.99 reduced to £8.00, and 3 for 2. Came out at the unfathomable total of £14.01? Shouldn't complain, as it's better than the £16.00 I worked it out as 😂! £1.40 TCB has already tracked (at least I got that one correct!) and I got 56 loyalty points. Really must see what the total points are, I hardly ever shop there but they do add up quickly when I do. Tried checking online before, but it said my card didn't have enough digits (had it for about 25 years since it very first launched) - at least it worked online to collect points!
Still to do:
* 20ish minutes of work admin (mostly getting expenses ready to submit for next time I'm by a scanner)
* Ignore the rest of my work to-do list, at least until tomorrow
* Shoppix, Receipt Hog and Huyu
* S&S
* Chill out!

Love how Jimmy's idea has inspired everyone. Can you imagine telling one of your RL friends how excited you are to be making an extra mortgage payment for leap year ......it is a good job we have some like minded over thinkers on this thread5
