I'm sorry you've been feeling like that. Personally speaking I always enjoy hearing about your activities.
Where did you go?
Perhaps you feel like this because of losing your goal (having achieved it) like @caeler in their thread. I don't know how to help but I hope you feel better soon.7 -
Good to hear you’ve been away SC and have more in the diary. I think kp might have a point - I know I always feel motivation is higher when paying off the mortgage than when I have to save for something. And remember we all have bleurgh periods (not just MFW related) where life feels a bit same-y, but maybe a bit of reflection on some non financial goals might inspire you? Hope you find your mojo again soon though!

The problem is, I have too many goals! Rather than spend some time enjoying the fact I had become MF, all I did was lurch straight into the next savings target, and the next one after that, and the next one after that....and it just feels interminable. I'm saving more than ever before now. Staffordia is right, I think I am too focused on the future and need to enjoy the present more (I worked out earlier that my monthly personal spending budget is 3.6% of my income - and even some of that gets used on boring stuff like haircuts and dentist appointments) - but I don't know what else I would spend it on, so not sure how to do the enjoyment!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Look on Groupon, they have things like alpaca days, race experience days, spa treatments, all sorts. Pick some random ones and do them, you may find that you loved it or you may not but most of the prices are very reasonable so you won't have to worry too much if you don't actually like it.

Agree with everyone else - if you don't have a fun pot, create one.
Give yourself some fun things to aim for in the same way you do with your other pots.
Sometimes it's easy to get lost in the numbers and see everything as lists of what still needs doing.
You've done an incredible amount, you need to be part of your own plans, not just looking in on them from the outside. If it's not adding up, compound it!5 -
I wonder actually if you do need a break from all the financial goals. Or simplify them in some way. What one is most important to you?
You have definitely earned some time off from thinking about all this stuff. Is there something you've always wanted to try or somewhere you've always wanted to go?5 -
I did say *non* financial goals… - i.e. things you’d like to see or do, places to go, activities to try. I agree with the others that you need a break from the laser focus on finances and to celebrate what you’ve achieved!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Thanks team, lots of good for thought there....
I do have non-financial goals already though - I report on them every month! (We were typing at the same time last night Vix, so I didn't see your comment until after I'd posted) And I do have fun money, there's just not a huge amount of it (it gets topped up by whatever I manage to accumulate in free money during the month though). Lots to think about though, it seems!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Ok, goals isn’t the right word - you do have non financial monthly ones, but they aren’t fun goals! Have you got a bucket list? I’m not a huge fan of the term, but what do you want to achieve in life - see the northern lights? Run a marathon? Go skydiving? Learn how to make a dress? Have a go at chainsaw carving?
Maybe increase the fun money? FIRE is only good if you can enjoy the journey too. Remember, your circumstances today may not be the same as in 10 years, both in good ways and bad ways - unexpected money might appear to help you on the way to your goals - a new job, an inheritance (sadly these things happen) - a chance to travel the world, decision to move abroad or somewhere cheaper.Carpe diem!(*Here ends motivational rant*)Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
