@themadvix I love your examples, the idea of chainsaw carving is amazing!
@SouthCoast clearly we all think you're wonderful, maybe you need some time to wallow and then you can bounce back. Wallow being the word I use for when I need some time to myself, not an accusation.5 -

@killerpeaty, no idea where that came from as I’m terrified of chainsaws, but love the artwork clever people can create!

After all these motivational posts - I'm waiting in anticipation to hear some crazy exciting bucket-list-style activity organised - although the chainsaw carving does sound a tad dangerous.3

Hi SC recently I have been feeling like we are hamsters on a treadmill (which is constantly running too quickly); so I just thought I’d let you know what I did to try to get out of the rut (as it definitely helped me).
I found fully taking a month off all MSE activities was really good to recharge and also make sure we were doing things for the right reasons. Allowing ourselves an anything goes month when the only goal was to have fun, didn’t derail us at all (in fact it had quite the opposite effect). We really made a big effort to put work and money worries aside (which wasn’t easy especially for me as I do get anxious).
I only had 2 weeks of actual holidays and a couple of half days but I made a real effort to work my hours and not do masses of overtime the week before and week we got back from our holiday. Then used the evening and weekends just for fun stuff.
No tracking; just focusing each day on what would be nice. It all happened a bit by accident to be honest; as the kids club unexpectedly closed which forced me to do it the first week but then I just carried it on.Take care. CM6 -
SC you perfectly described how I've been feeling for the past few months! I love holidays and travelling but with all the hassle surrounding them I haven't the heart to go anywhere! Because I feel I've 'lost' that element of my life I've become really disinterested in everything!
I think it is starting to pass now and I can finally feel enjoyment and motivation starting to creep upon me, I think I just need points in the future of things to look forward to. As soon as I bit the bullet and booked a trip to Croatia, then the world started to have colour again - that's how I describe it to myself anyway!
Find what makes you tick, what gives you mojo and do more of that! Is my rather oversimplified advice!
