For real! 8.00am-5.00pm, 30mins for lunch (plus a 1hr+ commute each way when I'm in the office). I've always been 8.30am-5.00pm before, but that extra half an hour is a killer 😮!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

After our discussions last weekend, it felt very timely to receive this article during the week:
https://www.moneyflamingo.com/financial-independence-and-life-planning/
"Excellent" I thought "Maybe life planning is what I need...." But then it didn't follow through with any suggestions about how to actually do that 🙁 And the PDF was....disappointing....
So instead I appear to have gone in the opposite direction for now and created a 6.5 year savings plan....🤦♀️Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

It's a quite wishy washy article. It does explain that you can have hobbies and passions but still work towards fire.
Want to do something active and social? Join a running club, it's a low membership fee and as long as you don't go crazy with the outfits then it's low costs. Want to do something crafty, take some lessons for things that interest you and then set off on your own. So much of the time people put off starting what they want to thinking about the initial costs, but many hobbies maintenance costs are fairly low.
Basically what I'm saying is that I agree with you, she missed the mark a bit.5 -
I think the thing for me is I am definitely in Camp A. It made a lot of sense to me that Camp B is the more balanced way of going about things, but it didn't really help with working out how to find your other goals/purpose. Thinking about what I would regret on my deathbed or what I would do if I only had 10 years to live (the suggestions on the PDF) don't really fire me up in the same way that FIRE fires me up 🙁

I know I said I would try not to moan about surveys, but Prolific is so quiet this month!!! Definitely feels like more than the usual lull as the academic year ramps up again. I've had 8 surveys this month - 8! Free money suffering terribly as a result, only £46.16 so far and can't see anything other than Prolific likely to cash outMortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

I agree, prolific has been a bit quiet, keep getting harassed by Nectar Canvass and One Poll though so maybe need to pick those back up again.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20173

I haven’t even reached payout level yet on prolific for this month! It is dire!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Glad I'm not the only one then 🙁! Things are marginally looking up, as I've been able to cash out on Panelbase and....wait for it....I've just done my first ever survey on Populus 🥳🥳🥳! £2 in the pot. Now how long to payout 🤔???
I've also received some very odd junk mail, inviting me to purchase a luxury lodge at a choice of holiday parks - one 26 miles away, one 13 miles away and one just 5.5 miles away. Surely people who already live in the area are the wrong target market 🤷♀️? I don't need to go on holiday here - I live here already!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Maybe you could sell up and live in a luxury lodge instead?😁If it's not adding up, compound it!4
