One... ONE set of cutlery? Next you'll be telling us that you don't have a designated ice cream spoon. :astonished:
  • How could a household possibly function, without a dedicated ice cream spoon??

Dd's boyfriend is amazed that we have a- matching crockery, b - lots of it c - pasta bowls, soup bowls, cereal bowls, noodle bowls, sundae dishes (all matching) and matching oven to tableware and then the cutlery - that we have (all matching) 'special fruit spoons, pastry forks, serving spoons, etc etc etc.... and lots of it (again) - but yes that is partly because there are 6 of us to start with :)   Clearly his parents don't have these things 😊🤔

oooh @greent I have pastry forks! My grandparents had them and I always thought it was so posh growing up so eventually got the chance to buy a set. They are quite beautiful and never get used!!

In that case you need to make (or buy!) cake!! - DD made the fluffiest lemon and raspberry Victoria sponge earlier this week 🍰 - so out came the pastry forks 😃

You lot 🤣🤣🤣 Definitely no ice cream spoon, but you have reminded me that I do have a fish fork and fish knife. Totally redundant now I no longer eat fish at home, so I may return them to my Mother's cutlery drawer from whence they came on my next visit!

In weather news, we have finally had a very light dusting of snow (well, BF has - my bubble 🥰 - I doubt there will be any at mine when I get back later). I can practically see it melting before my eyes as it's only settled in some areas, so I probably won't even need to clear it from the car!
    Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
Cleared 🧚‍♀️🧚‍♀️🧚‍♀️!!! In 5 years, 1 month and 29 days
Total amount repaid: £72,307.03. £1.10 repaid for every £1.00 borrowed

Finally earning interest instead of paying it!!!
  • We have fish knives and forks but they are silver so we never use them. The fish knives and forks from my cutlery set, inherited from my grannie, my mother whipped for use at her house! I also have a very treasured set of silver coffee spoons with little coffee beans on the end. We never use them.
