Oh dear BP, one of BF is enough, I don't want to think that there are others out there 😮! He did actually do some decluttering the other day: stacks of plastic takeaway containers and a pile of dinner plates. Sadly, he wanted to declutter it all in my direction.... I did query what he thought I would do with an additional 8 or 9 plates given that I live alone and never have guests (and no Greek weddings coming up either), so he sifted through and removed the chipped ones which narrowed it down to two - gee, thanks babe 😍! However I didn't want to discourage him when he was on a roll, so just meekly accepted it all and I will deal with it later! Said plates are actually too big for my cupboard and stop the door closing fully, but I'm past caring!
I know DFOD, I do sometimes wonder what some surveys contribute to the sum of human knowledge.... They're asking questions that no-one needs answering 🤣!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

That question was dreadful!
BeeblePixie, you're not alone - I have about 18x SC's mortgage left on mineI keep telling myself it's not a competition

@South_coast I’ve got to ask... why did he have so many plates in the first place??
@Cheery_Daff I swing wildly between pride for folks like SC who can overpay as much as they do, and crippling jealousy that I can’t do the same 😂😂MFW:

Ah, well remember mine was only ever a tiddler to start with (ooh, err 😳)
He has loads of tableware because he loves entertaining. He has a dining table that seats about 14 when fully extended and serving dishes so big they take up 2/3 of the top rack of the dishwasher (he likes generous portions - NOT like that, before anyone gets their mind in the gutter 🤣). Apparently these plates weren't even the standard ones from the plate cupboard, they were the overflow plates from the overflow plate cupboard for when all the other plates are in use - evidently when you have guests is the perfect time to whip out the chipped crockery 🤔?Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

@South_coast at some points your OPs were my entire monthly wage 😂😂 although you are absolutely right, we borrowed more than you did in the first place (a whopping £112,500)
overflow plates... from an overflow plate cupboard? We have a grand total of 6 dinner plates in our house. I don’t think more that 4 have ever been used at once 💭😂😂MFW:

Yeah, guess who gets lumbered with the clearing up though.... There's a reason why I am intimately acquainted with the capacity of the dishwasher 🙄!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

I might sign up to surveys again now, the questions seem way more amusing than they used to be 😆
MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁3 -
I must admit I do keep finding myself buying plates and bowls from time to time because we have 6 dinner plates and when you have 6 people over, what do you serve the food on if you're having a buffet or allowing people to serve themselves? Not that we've had anyone over for a year but you know... 🤣
Don't worry @Cheery_Daff we borrowed £269k over 35 years at a ridiculous interest rate which we should be able to halve in November when the fixed term comes to an end, so it could be worse 🤣
