Noticed that there are fewer cars on the roads up here too. They were showing maps of the significant drop in air pollution across the globe. That's one small positive to come from the recent events?!

I imagine e-bikes are particularly popular at the moment due to unfit people wanting to ride them LOL.

It does feel a bit like there is a war on, with all the closing of borders and the blitz spirit coming out and the clamping down on just about everything fun (says she, who has never lived through a war, but this is how I imagine it would feel at the beginning). Maybe when this is all over there will be a bit of reflection about what we're all doing to this world of ours and how we all might be able to live a little better together in it. And maybe once we've collectively realised how we managed to get by without just blindly over-consuming everything as normal, we might stop to think whether we really needed it in the first place and see if we can cope with a little bit less. Or maybe (and probably more likely, sadly) we will continue with the siege mentality of buying and stocking and hoarding until one day we manage to wipe the human race out completely, but at least we had a nice house and 100 spare toilet rolls 😯

This could explain all the ww2 film reruns on TV recently (cue dambusters theme...😆)...
I hope there will be a positive change afterwards, I'd hate to live in the Black Mirror world we seem to be edging towards.

Definitely feel what you're saying SC. All this panic over buying loo rolls has certainly made me stop and think about how much I use, which might sound silly but I'm sure I'm not the only one that uses far more than they need to!Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
Starting Mortgage Balance (June 2019) £72,000.
