I am pleased to announce, especially to @t2rry who has been rooting for me - that the padlock is open. well before I got to the 9000s. So when the gyms open, I will be using it to lock my kit up!! That's £5 saved on a new one, and only took me 5 hours or so - so brute force methods do sometimes work, and was quite zenI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Me too! I’m waiting to hear what the number combination was. I’m betting it’s 9998 😆MFW 2022 #71 £4400/£44004

OK - I probably shouldn't but it was 8246 - eight because that's in our house number and 246 because of the Tom Robinson song 2-4-6-8 - and switched around because I'm sneaky. If I'd done it like the song (ie 2-4-6-8) - then I would have solved it Monday!!
Would have been good if I could remember that logic before I had to crack itI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

done my payday doings, and its one of those months were all the numbers just jumble up and won't untangle - so although I'm starting April, almost exactly as expected, the final balance between pension, credit card, kids and savings was a bit more varied than planned ... a LOT of stuff has come and gone through the accounts on the way to do its job elsewhere. I think I'll just leave it there and try to do better this monthI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

If only you’d started from 9999 and worked your way backwards.....MFW 2022 #71 £4400/£44004

*Savings Buffer - £100/£1500

True and true, but now I remember my logic, I'm unlikely to forget - the trouble was I hadn't used it for 2 years and just could not recreate that chain of thought.

Catching up and forget the budgeting stuff, the carrier bag and padlock antics made me LOLIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them
Emergency fund 100/1000
Buffer fund 0/100

Lovely day today - sat outside in the garden with DD1 who came to visit from about an hour away
Caught up on christmas and her birthday, and a lot of gossip, it was quite chilly out but we have a fire-pit thing and some clean(ish) logs to burn so still smell smoky but was worth itI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
