work is picking back up - travelling 2 days a week - which is a nice balance. saw an old friend in a new role today - may end up working a bit more closely which could be interesting, as she is a lucky type (even though her luck is from hard work and skill) - maybe some luck will trickle down
all the ebbs and flows in my account have ebbed and flowed and I am a bit better off than expected, once a couple of FEBs (Frog Eating Bonuses) are included so those have to be got on with. I will have to be careful as until I have FEBd I will be closer to my OD than I have been for a while. Got some expenses in earlier than usual, so that will help.

I know what you mean by FEB, but it also sounds like a treat you get yourself for eating a frog. That said, it may not be a bad idea for me to line up a small treat every time I eat a frog. Thanks for the ideaIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Aha! @doingitanyway - in my thoughts, eating the frog was the bonus - but a bonus bonus sounds like a cracking idea - especially as for me to regard it as a frog and not just a chore (a tadpole?) it has to be £hundreds and involve some effort. There is always room for a hard earned treat even in MSE-landI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

In other news our oven broke (not catastrophically), but beyond economic repair (combination of dodgy electrics and hard usage). So whilst I am grateful that, for the first time in my life, I have an EF that isn't a CC, it is now sadly depleted. We had a double width gap, so we needed a double width oven, which start at £500. Luckily hotukdeals website had a double width oven offer that had been posted 60 minutes before we got the news ours needed to be replaced, so we were straight in there, but most of £1K to the worse. So not money down the drain but unexpectedly spent.
No budgets to rejig just an EF to replenish. Makes my FEBs even more important.I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Had a couple of FEBs today - repurposed my OH old laptop by changing the operating system - its now usable by me and I will use it for personal business to keep the work home separation journey going. Also applied for a discount using my work scheme for OH eye test and new glasses. got nearly a £100 back.

Health check today, and god bless the NHS when (in true MSE style) they realised I did not literally have a pot to P in (the new system involves bringing your wares) they not only provided one, but gave me one for next time!! Plus had my annual chat with my nurses to make sure I was all right, which was comforting, even if I did get reprimanded for the state of my trainers

Today I am on an intensive online course. Its on Euro time so a 8am start for us in the UK - and lunch will be at 11:30. This could be a long and very sedentary day, but at least it will finish early
In other news following the health check the NHS advice was to buy a pair of slippers to keep my feet warm (circulation). I can feel the years catching up on me, but thanks to Amazon next day delivery they are already here, and they are very very comfortably snug - if only someone had told meI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

One of my FEBs has come in, namely the spends my OH has made supporting her food bank with specials - we had let that admin drift during lockdown, but the payment we claimed a week ago has come in for over £500 - which was good for the cash flow. OH salary comes in in a week, so I think we are good and nearly a year OD free. Hopefully as well, we should see the end of CC2 (0% BT) this pay day, although the oven costs mean repayment of CC3 will be slower, and some extra spends on CC3 crept in while balancing the current ACI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

So today the news is we have a new coffee machine at work, and one of the drinks available (for free so that's a nice perk) is Bovril.
OMG its more delicious than I remembered by far, so may be a regular treat (prob ought to check nutritional values, but I never thought of it having any!!)
