Busy old week, lots of running around getting extras for the builders (that's the deal I do all the procurement and waste disposal he does all the skilled stuff!) seems to work, but he asks for it a bit at a time so multiple trips instead of one big one - but not a big deal.  Lots of work, got a couple of deadlines before I head off to the seaside next weekend.

started today with a 10000 step walk as it was sunny/light cloud - was a bit bracing but I was slightly hungover so it all worked in the end.  That keeps me at 4000 per day average just a bit under my winter target - but another walk tomorrow morning will get me back up close.

Just about to have coffee #2 of the morning - which I think is my favourite listening to my  playlist - with the telly off - very relaxing

Well done on the steps. I struggle to do them in winter. Much better when it's warmer.

I agree, there was a biting wind, but I had layers and a beanie so wasn't too chilled, although I did definitely choose the shortest option when I had choices

So another dry morning, up super early as we had an early night - so out for another long walk and already back home with 10000 steps on the clock.  Coffee then tip, then lunch and tip again, then paperwork, supper (my turn to make a chilli) and .... relax

Sounds like a good day. Well done on the steps. Mine are abysmal this week other than Friday.

Thank you both.  I am WFH tomorrow, so may try and get an hour walking in that would normally be my commute.  If its wet I'll just start work early and keep my fingers crossed for the afternoon slot

  • Excellent walking there - I suspect once you get fully into the habit it will become far easier and just "something you do" - we both did this daily (weekdays, anyway) during the lockdowns using what would have been the commute time - we were able to go out later than normal, still get an hours walk, and MrEH could still be at his desk on time. I actually miss being able to do that now I'm back in the office.

I am keeping it up - probably making it back up average by the end of Feb, although this wind is not helpful

so I am now in my happy place by the seaside - we chose to delay travel until super early Sat morning because of Eunice, so although we missed Fri night we were by the seaside at 10:00am which is as early as we ever get going since the LOs stopped coming with us (or turned into equal slug a beds)

Have already consumed many coffee's (HM) and a pasty and cake lunch (from shop), and had a bracing couple of walks (will be averaging 10000+ a day inc Sat).

The location of our holiday property is ideal and we paid a little premium for that, however the inside is a lot duller than the advertorial pictures implied - almost to the point of dishonesty.  The residential equivalent of holding everything in after 3 hours in make up and claiming its your everyday look.  Or like expecting Arnie Schwarzenegger from the film Twins and getting Danny de Vito  (although I think an evening with Danny would be a complete hoot, but you know what I mean).
