Crafting mad, well said about coming on here for a chat.I am pretty isolated where I live anyway but enjoy chatting on the forum.I joined when I was recovering from breast cancer and since then I have had at least 2 other major surgeries. It is so nice to chat with like minded people.
Your craft total is very impressive. Is this your job?
Emsi, that is very thoughtful of you to support someone who will struggle to make a living at the moment. My husband has lost one of his jobs but is keeping one fortunately but in a different capacity. Both jobs were with the public.
Crafting cat has just come in with a large stick stuck to her tail.Other cat is playing with it much to crafting cats annoyance.
    Take care Vx

I love chatting to all of you too. As you say its a lovely place where likeminded people can have a chat and somebody understands :) I'm so glad to know it is helping you tooo as that is really I set up this challenge many years ago :)
Yes crafting is now my job - I have an etsy shop, a facebook page, an Instagram account and also now my own website where I sell my creations from having started back years ago at craft fairs.I turned my passion into a proper business around 8 years ago but its really only started to take off the past three years (although now I will obviously have to work extra hard to build it all back up after this pandemic has passed).
My daughter has just got home from college so for me our social isolation is going to starting from now. This also signifies the start of my stash busting in earnest so just debating whether to make something or start dinner?
Think the making urge is going to win and hope that hubby is feeling hungry and starts dinner for me ;)

Hope everyone is staying well and following the government's advice.

I've been crocheting a blanket, but have used up all the wool I had for it, and can't get to Poundland to see if there's any more yet.  Why did I only buy 3 balls of wool for it???

I did however made a prototype face mask yesterday, so will be making a few more today and tomorrow.

    Stay safe everyone. Chris xxx

Hi, not really done a lot of crafting as have been running around like a loony trying to get things sorted for working from home. Let's just say it's been stressful. Still haven't sorted OH's waistcoats but I have finished the back of the rather complicated cable jumper (only taken 3 years so far!) and started on the front - must confess to buying a further 3 balls of wool for it but I'm not counting it as stash as I have a purpose for it. I have promised some material to a work colleague - bought it for a 1920's event to make a skirt out of it and never did, and it doesn't really suit me so I'm giving it to a good home.

I did crochet a coaster out of spare wool - we have nice new bedside cabinets and I realised I don't have a coaster for it. It's ....ermm ... colourful. Still counts, right? Also stencilled the wardrobe doors for our newly refurbished bedroom

Thanks Vulpix.  Yes, it can be washed and reused.  I used fabric I already had and elastic I found in my sewing box.  Only made the one so far, might make some more tomorrow.

  • Sorry not been about, and hope you are all coping OK. DS has had his teacher training cut short with the schools shutting but we are all safe and social distancing.  The ones causing me big problems are my mum and FIL, 88 and 90 respectively, who don't see why they should stay in in they don't want too!! It's like herding chickens, and no matter how many times I repeat the risks to them, to others and to the NHS, it seems to glide over them, it's like banging my head on a wall until it bleeds. So, not much crafting this week, but hope will have some time in the weeks to come if can get in the mood, and loose some of this anxiety.
Sorry for the moan, but thanks for 'listening' just felt had to let it out somewhere.  Look after yourselves one and all x

It's so hard getting people to understand and do something they don't want to isn't it? We've had major arguments in my family because of people not understanding that they're putting our elderly relatives at risk by continuing to visit them in person :(

I am continuing with the knitting- it's very relaxing actually, I wish I'd given it another go earlier! This is the progress so far- the beige and grey will alternate for a good while yet! 😂

Very nice colours emsi, what is it going to be?
Well this will be a test for everyone now.
My son has had his first day of trying to teach his classes via the internet,he said it was a disaster! My daughter who works for the NHS is feeling a bit sorry for herself as she can go to work but lives alone. My other daughter has moved in with 2 friends to isolate with.
Mr V will be pacing the floor. He likes going to work and being out and busy.My Mum is fine,MIL fine.I have plenty to do.I moved some furniture about in the bedrooms today. I have everything to decorate our bedroom but hate decorating.I think it will be like" 3 kings",do everything except get on with it.
I made a little posy box today from some bits saved from other projects.I will give it to MIL,just her cup of tea.
