    Morning all,
20 angels now completed. I'm bagging them up in batches of 10 and will quarantine them in my garage before putting out with gloves during Christmas week. DD sent me photos of the rainbow angel:

Gosh sorry they are so big! Won't be making these for my fundraiser as a bit fiddly having to keep changing the yarn colour..
Managed to speak by video call to my DDad this morning. He is stable but on oxygen 24/7, either facemask or ventilator, depending on his oxygen levels. He is hallucinating and has nausea due to the anti-biotics, so all very distressing for him. Hoping he will improve over the next few days and be allowed out of the ICU to a normal ward to recuperate.
    Hope you're all doing okay,
    Coxy xx

  • I love the angels Coxy. Glad to hear that you spoke to your DDad. Love and best wishes to you and your Dad. I hope his SATs improve and he gets out of ICU.
It’s been a manic week.I stopped using the gel mouse mat and the gel keyboard rest as I was having tremendous wrist pain and not able to stitch. It was waking me up at night which I’ve never had.
I did a bit of internet browsing and since  I’ve stopped using the mats I’ve had no pain and the feeling is returning in my wrist. I’m  hoping DH will help me cut the mounting card & frame my sampler tomorrow. Nmm I have sent a request.
    Have a good weekend all.

Charly, request accepted :) Sorry you've had some wrist pain, i hope it continues to improve no you've stopped using the mats.

Coxy, glad to hear you spoke to your dad. I said to charly earlier on FB, if its only us 3 this year i'm happy to send a card to both of you. I really must get started on them. Tough week as the dogs seizures are back, we had a 11 month break i'm so gutted for her :(

Hi everyone. It's been a very long time since I've been here. I've picked up my cross stitch again in lockdown and have made some actual progress on it in the last few weeks.
This was a gift from a friend, a complete surprise from someone who picked the design himself and had no idea how long it would take me. I've struggled to really get into it especially with all the confetti stitch in the lanterns, but the corner I'm on now is much more enjoyable.
I'm persevering with this, and when it's done I have a couple of Joan Elliott designs that I'm looking forward to.
nmm, I think you were working on a lovely picture of lions last time I was here, and it was a long time ago!

Welcome back elliep, you're doing amazingly well on that cross stitch. The African Lions, wow good memory i've completed a load more since then including my all time favourite Beautiful Dreamer which was finished in 2014 :D

nmm - Dreamer is gorgeous! I didn't realise it must have been before 2014 I was last here... Where has life gone?

Thank you for your kind comment about my Tangled design. I would never have chosen to stitch this myself and have definitely learned that if someone gives me a project like this again I should carefully consider whether it's something I actually want to do before starting it. If not, add the fabric and threads to my stash and choose a different chart. My friend who gave it to me is loving seeing it growing, but he's apologised a few times because he didn't realise how long it would take.

It was a thoughtful gift, but i know from experience doing a project you don't like is a chore. Atleast the end is in sight, we're taking names for the xmas card exchange just now if you'd like to join in, Coxy is the lady in charge of that   o:)

That sounds good, when would the card need to be sent? Is there an expected size for it? It might be nice to do something smaller and in bright Christmas colours for a bit.

No expected size or design, its up to you and we usually send them the first week in December although we are running a little late this year. I've not even started yet, oops.
