Mk4 Golf Valuation please
Options
Hi
I originally bought this car new from "Trade Sales" so is an import. It had 6 miles when I picked it up and strictly speaking I am the 2nd owner as they purchased it first.
Mk4 Golf 2002, 2 litre "gti" petrol manual.
Black, with full leather black interior, heated seats, climate control, cruise control.
Good condition other than a few barely noticeable tiny dents and odd little scratch. Interior very good however the leather steering wheel and gear knob could probably be refurbed.
115,000 miles.
Can't seem to get online value as import.
Thank you.
T.

Excuse my ignorance, but not sure what difference an 'import' makes to the value. But here are some off Autotrader

MK4s do still have a keen following though probably in smaller numbers now. However this isnt one of the desirable variants. Cant see it being worth more than £1250.0

They're all imports. I think the OP means that it's not to UK specification - possibly LHD.
Back in the 90s and early 00s it was possible to save substantial amounts on a new car - but it would have hit the used value a bit when it was newish.
Two decades on, it's going to make zero difference. a 110k mile 18yo Mk4 Golf (even if it is a GTi - the Mk4 was about the biggest insult to that badge) is not worth much at all. A grand really would be pushing it, down to somewhere near scrap value, depending entirely on condition and MOT history.0 -
No, it'll be UK-spec, RHD - but would have been a parallel or grey import when new, supplied from a VW dealer on the continent to a reseller in the UK. TradeSales are/were one of the biggest.

The MK3 GTI and MK4 2.0 GTIs were bad.
The MK4 1.8T 180 was a good car. But tarnished with the 2.0 brush.0 -
