Thanks for the advice, however I've spent nearly 6k in total so far. I don't really want to spoil it by having a wooden box to put my feet on...

I was thinking something tiled in with the floor tiles, actually.

Does the £6k include the Megaflo?

Megaflo installed less than a couple of weeks before toilet plumbing

can you find the details for the fitting, specifically in relation to the height?

Sorry. It's a very small ensuite and the idea of having the toilet etc off the floor was to increase the visual floor space. Yes megaflo was included. Was having to look at my figures again.

I had given him the spec of the toilet. He had these before he installed the hidden cistern.
    Thank you.

A typical Megaflo costs £1k. Fitting perhaps £1k more. So, your en suite bathroom is £4k. That's not a fortune for a bathroom.

The fact it's small does not make all that much difference to the cost. My mate who was director of operational research for Costain pointed out it's all the cut tiles that take time to lay, for example, not vast expanses of uncut ones.

I suggest that you have a discussion with the builder that includes an offer of more money to put it right. Maybe split the cost with him 50/50. I'm not saying that's right. Just that it will get your bathroom fixed. Suing him, as I have tried to point out above, is a bit of a gamble.

I noticed the toilet seat is about 540mm above the floor.

Go to the Hudson Reed website:
    https://www.hudsonreed.co.uk/products/sanitaryware
and find the pan you have. You can see fitting instructions for some of them. (Click on "Line drawing")

This one is for a "Luna" Wall hung pan:

and it clearly shows that the height from the floor to the top of the pan should be 400mm
Adding about 25mm for the seat shows that what you have is a good 115mm higher than it should be.
