Thank you for the new thread elsiepac may I please join in ? I'm going to attempt £100 for January to include all cleaning materials, toiletries etc. There are two of us plus an occasionally returning student daughter. We won't normally be able to set it that low but there is a lot of food currently banked up in cupboards and freezer which could be worked into a meal plan .:)Nothing in it, nothing in it but a ribbon round it .....0

Just done my “big shop”. Spent £33.30 in Tosco (forgot I needed toothpaste for us both which is expensive); £19.64 in H0me Baaargains; £19.46 in Aldee. Total of £72.40 so I’ve spent £76.25 so far this month.
My Aldee shop did include an unplanned half price large chicken for £1.54 so I’ll roast it and freeze it for sandwiches and or meals later in the month.SPC #023 SPC 12: £125.86[/COLOUR]:SPC 13: £214.98: SPC 14: £297.41 SPC 15: £237.27 SPC 16 £335.39; SPC 17 £662.09 SPC 18 £20MFW #21 Mortgage start Dec 2015 £79,950; June 2025 £19,394.00 2025 OP £1589/COLOR]/£2,000 MFiT T6 #3 £19070/£25,500 (72.82%%) MFiT T7 #3 £2050/£21,930 (9.34%)0 -
Just on to post a victory of sorts, talked myself out of going to buy ingredients to make a curry or a takeaway curry.
I’m more than likely getting a takeaway tomorrow night for NYE so I can hold off but the point is was it not for this challenge I’d have just done it. Looking at finances and my savings targets for the year and def motivated to have a low grocery spend this month so I can save more and also use up my freezer stocks.

First week of grocery shopping. I spent £20.72 on essentials at Mr T and Mr L. Pretty pleased about that. Will need some tinned tomatoes by the end of the week but that's it. Batch cooking savoury mince ready to freeze yay!

Put me down for £80 in January please to include toiletries/cleaning stuff etc. I live alone and meal prep/batch cook so can normally make it in/under budget.
#84 Make £2020 in 2020 challenge
Grocery Challenge January £0/£800 -
My yearly household budget covering everything to do with the house starts on the 1st.
However, I'm on a saving mission, saving as much as I can from all sections of my budget.
My budget for groceries is £9.25 per day and I aim to come in under this as there are just the two of us. I have a fair amount of food in the freezers and cupboards - I do so love a bargain but I must be sensible and save as much as I can.
I'm saving so I can employ someone in the summer to help me as my DH will be incapacitated for a couple of months and there's too much work here for just one person.
So can you put me down for £200 for January and I'll see how it goes.0 -
I’d like to join in with this. My budget for this month is £400 This is for two adults and three children and a dog.
I’m hoping to do it for a lot less, I had it down to around £250 at one point but I’ve been lazy with my budget lately and just haven’t bothered to manage my shopping costs.0 -
Morning, please may I also join in? I'm aiming for £300 for the whole of January (including today as I've just done a quick shop for next week) to feed 2 adults and 2 border collies fed on a raw diet. It's better to beg forgiveness than ask permission.0

No more GC spends for me just yet which I'm very pleased about, but I *may* want something for next couple of days breakfasts... not happy with the choices I have and am craving more fruit/healthy stuff. Still have all my lunches and dinners sorted with what I have in though so it could be worse!

First time with this challenge -
£90/month in January and December, £60/month otherwise.
That's to include all general toiletries and household consumables (matches, foil, cleaning, etc) as well as food.0
