Except the Harry Potter range:D0 -
After I finished work at lunchtime today I popped into my larger Boots, to case the joint for tomorrow.
I could see a small section of sales stuff and mostly mens gift. I thought they've sold even more stuff, then I found it, all been moved to end shelves.I counted about 5 or 6end shelves of stuff and I think one of those was devoted to the candle range.
I walked up and down seeral times and the only thing I considered was maybe some men's stuff and that's only because I have a son at Uni and it helps his budget if he gets toiletry items as presents.
As I was catching up with this thread earlier, I thought well at least we've still got someone coming on and randomly predicting the date without an official announcement, but even that turned out to be incorrect. The Boots sale thread has definately lost something when the first person to say it's definately on a certain date is actually correct. :rotfl:
Re HP stuff, I have come to the conclusion that this is an 'in house; joke with the Boots buyers and each year they hold an internal competition and the person who wins (or loses!) stocks the range that flops.:rotfl: I remember the Zoella year. I bought a calendar at 90% off to split up and use as stocking fillers for teenage daughter. Fast foward to that Xmas and even she'd outgrown/moved on from a lot of the stuff. I still come across the odd item amongest my present stash. Amazed they never ended up in Home Bargains etc, perhaps no one else wanted them and either they got pulped or shipped abroad.
Teenager daughter is off college tomorrow and I've managed to start work laterso am taking her for her first and probably only Boots sale experience. She has her eye on some expensive make up so it will be worth it to her at least.

I won't be heading to my usual haunt tomorrow, I had a look last week and there wasn't anything of note (there's maybe a quarter of what there usually is - none of the brands I normally go for). I bought a few things (travel mug, slippers) at 50% because I knew it wasn't worth me heading back for the 'big' sale.
My tiny local store has a small amount in (normally they have nothing) including the Harry Potter stuffSo I'll nip in there instead rather than using the petrol.
Good Luck to anyone going to the big stores :money:0 -
I went to my local big store last week and they had ted baker stuff a lot of Harry Potter stuff. I like Harry Potter but I wouldn’t use the stuff they have.
I did go to a sale a couple years ago. I was at an entrance and staff not in uniform were going in and buying before the store opened and then leaving with bags of stuff. I’m sorry but if your not working close to opening or on day off you should wait with the rest of us.
There is another store that will open an hour later but not easy to get to as the whole shopping centre opens at that time. There wasn’t much left in the local store last week.

Stay in bed and not bother? :rotfl:
Personally I don't have an issue with staff buying stuff before opening, they may have been in early / working late filling shelves. Retail is a pretty thankless job most of the time so if they get a little perk they deserve it (so long as it's fair and reasonable and one doesn't roll a whole cage of S&G out the back door to their car :rotfl:).
I know people will say 'well they chose to work in retail' but that's not necessarily the case.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Was in my local store just before opening last night and they were wheeling out trolleys full of Harry Potter stuff, rest looked like a jumble sale.
I know some local stores that let staff have first pick, but are usually better at hiding it by them paying and putting it in the back or paying later.0 -
I'm back!
It was like the old days
Place to myself, 50% signs still up, and basically had a staff member as a personal shopper
Spent £26 on:
Slytherin make up bag (for me - it's a good size and I need one)
2 x B&H face masks (pack of 7)
2 x Elf beauty blenders (pack of 3)
Llama mug (bit small, but I reckon I might stick a succulent in it or something)
Scented candle
3 bars of soap
I looked at the harry potter eyeshadow sets but I don't think my teens are into glittery shades so I didn't bother, I think they may still be there at 90%
I was back home by 9am, normally at this point we're joining the massive queue for the checkouts. BIt weird after doing the scrum for the last few years.0 -
Mine was busy but didn't feel as bad as usual, no big cages of stock being brought out from the back this year everything that was already out seemed to be the lot. Didn't see any star gifts of any sort unlike previous years so assume they'd shifted the last of them at 55% off or whatever it was or saved some back for Valentines day.
Didn't go mad but still managed to spend £54, not much decent to be had in the way of men's gear this year though so glad I've still got one or two bits from last year, I like to have a few smaller bits for extra stocking fillers to give with a voucher.
A few more bits I would've liked but decided I just didn't need them and only really worth the 70% price tag in the first place.
I definitely prefer it on the last Friday of the month, seems a lot of people have lost interest by then, lol.
Will list my stash later.0 -
Mine was the quietest I've ever seen it - about 30 people I'd say max, most people polite and helping each other (bar a couple of the usual who were just sweeping the shelves) No extra bits from what had already been out - I picked up a couple of things, decided I didn't need them and put them back. Total spent...big fat £0 :money:
One woman had bags and bags full, then was at the checkout asking the cashier to go through each thing and tell her what it was / did and then made up her mind on whether she wanted it or not  Bet the cashier and everyone behind her loved that.
Saw a couple of PB bits which had quite nice art deco patterns on, and I might have bought a bag if it didn't say 'The Future Mrs Shelby' on it...I am deff way too old for that kind of logo and it just looked a bit naff. Picked up OH a body wash and bottle opener set in Superdrug in their sale which was PB branded and looked much better quality.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
