I went to my tiny local store for 830. Three people were waiting but only one was there for the sale. 50% signs still up. Very little left. No female smelly sets unless you wanted hand wash and hand cream and the mens consisted of a few Lynx, Jack Wills and Fat Face. Just bought three of each of the Jack Wills and Fat Face as gifts for son and his mates.
Did see a set of HP bath bombs originally £18 - vastly over priced even at 70% off.0 -
Mine was the quietest I've ever seen it - about 30 people I'd say max, most people polite and helping each other (bar a couple of the usual who were just sweeping the shelves) No extra bits from what had already been out - I picked up a couple of things, decided I didn't need them and put them back. Total spent...big fat £0 :money:
One woman had bags and bags full, then was at the checkout asking the cashier to go through each thing and tell her what it was / did and then made up her mind on whether she wanted it or not  Bet the cashier and everyone behind her loved that.
Saw a couple of PB bits which had quite nice art deco patterns on, and I might have bought a bag if it didn't say 'The Future Mrs Shelby' on it...I am deff way too old for that kind of logo and it just looked a bit naff. Picked up OH a body wash and bottle opener set in Superdrug in their sale which was PB branded and looked much better quality.
Same as me, spent £0. Nothing took my fancy.0 -
Stockton retail park had a fair sized queue & lots of Yankees candle etc. It is still annoying each year that market traders are taking huge quantities of stock ( like up to 50 items all the same). No idea what happened to the max 6 of anything. one trader had just about every impulse set, dozens of yardley sets etc& all :(the traders were hanging around the stock room door & grabbing vast quantities of anything being brought out. Staff looked totally fed up. We were paid for & out before 9am leaving loads of Harry Potter stuff which even the traders didn't seem to want. We were nostalgic for the old days of the sale .0

So, I didn't seem to get too much today for my £54 but largely due to getting a few 'higher end' items. Happy to find a few things I'd hoped for despite not being the front of the queue, think I joined 20mins before opening.
My little haul included:
*Curry paste trio
*Yankee Candle tea lights and nice crackled glass Holder
*2 x Feather and Down sets which included the pillow sprays I like
*Morris & Co Advent calendar
*Cath Kidston Advent calendar
*Joules Bath bombs
*Pixi Glow Tonic trio
*Pixi retinol trio
*Shot2Go photo baubles which bizarrely scanned at 45p!!
Tempted to get the Zoella hat and travel cup, largely as I liked the hat but I resisted as didn't need the cup, especially when it said 'hot stuff' on it and I remembered the ones from a few years back had poor reviews about the quality.
Also tempted by the Yardley Lavender hot water bottle set, albeit in a battered broken box, just 'cos I needed a new mini water bottle for work. Resisted at £6 as lavender isn't the best fragrance for me and it seemed like that's all it was worth to start with.
Picked up an unpriced large Pixi Glow tonic set, when I asked the price at the till it was £18, still a bargain really as retails around that a bottle and there were 3 items in it but I didn't bother! Must've been £60to start with :eek:0 -

I don't understand why the market traders would hit boots, the Lynx and Dove sets for example are generally a lot cheaper in the likes of Wilko and Tesco. I guess it's probably the volume as Boots generally has more stock but seemingly not this year, mine had very little of that kind of stuff at all.0 -
Hello all!
Well, usually its a polite affair, but **** me it was nuts this year!
My local store has moved everything to a corner, and it was not only a health& safety nightmare, but manners didn't exist!

Anyhow, I did get plenty of things for me& I'm splitting it with my Mum& Auntie.
Got 70% + my student discount of 10%!

Just no need for the rudeness.0 -
Don't think there will be anything decent to be had come 90% day given stock Levels this year. Popped in mine again on my way home and still plenty of people looking but literally only rubbish left! Mostly damaged packaging so only any good to keep for yourself, though I don't mind as long as its complete.
Not shifting the cards and wrap!! Unsurprising when it's been 20p a roll in Marks and even less in some places....0 -

I looked at the cards but they still worked out at 90p for 12. Not much better than the price you could pick up in WH Smith / Sainsburys or M&S - so I didn't bother - they were only for 'spares' so I'll just have to stick to neat handwriting next year or hope O2 resurrect their free app cards.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Ours was exactly the same as it always is, manic! Nowhere near as much stock as usual though.
I managed to get a few of the Sanctuary Spa Handwashes/Hand Creams sets & Sanctuary candles, S&G Soap on a ropes, Champneys Lip Care Set and the Yankee Candle Christmas Cookie set with the holder.
Dont think the staff were happy at all, kept shouting that the fragrance sets were not included but every still assumed they were even though they had the white clearance stickers on!
One staff member on the tills was quite abrupt and told a lady to go put the fragrance set back on the shelf if she didn't want it and was also only allowing 6 items per person (Which they should all do at every store)
Feel really sorry for the staff really, a poor lady was holding the large bags as everyone went in and was just getting grabbed at.
Hope everyone who ventured out got what they wanted.
Who knows, maybe this year will be the last of the 70% sale...0
