Just spotted the chart on FB and have printed it.  I may just play catch up!  I think I'll drip feed it into my savings account though rather than put it in a jar, does anyone else do this?

    Hi, Jacs205,
Yes, I do. There is too much of a temptation to spend it if funds are draining away as the month goes by. For me, things are a bit like 'loaves and fishes' in my household but at least I have access to the sum in a savings account whilst it's also earning some interest if I really need it. Sat in a tin, jar or money box at home it would earn nothing.
    Best,
    df-MRes student

Hi Jacs205! I did the challenge with cash last year but it was quite a mission to get so many coins down to the bank at the end of it! This year I am doing it virtually but still getting the satisfaction of saving a little every day and getting to watch it grow! Good to have you joining us!

I've just made my last deposit starting with a 3, all the 3s are done! Feels like a little milestone! £223.11 and counting for Cazzie! :D xxx

Jacs205, I’m doing mine with cash but as I’m paid monthly, I put a whole month’s worth of savings in my tin on payday.  I ‘pay’ in advance - so March’s contributions were put in on 29 February 😁.  By putting in a whole months contribution I put notes in my tin - keeps it nice and light!  But it has to the best way for you to do the challenge

    Hi everyone!

Sorry I've been a bit absent - what with working a tremendous amount lately I've not been on the forums much at all sadly!

Shrae and df-MRes_Student, I have added you both to the list so please check your numbers.  Apologies for the delay!

I've fallen behind a bit on the challenge however I know where I was up to on my ticklist so when I get paid for April I'm going to put an amount in to get me up to speed and then I'll take off again.  I'll have the extra due to all the overtime I've been earning thank goodness! I'm determined to get me some savings!
Hope you're all doing well and staying safe and healthy!

I'm really enjoying this ticking off, I only wish I'd had an account separate from my main savings to keep it in.  Thanks for the replies folks :)

    Hello everyone,

I had slipped behind by about a week but have just caught up and am happy to report a total of £266.91 up to and including yesterday. It's even more crucial that we save what we can at the moment, so well done to everyone tucking the pennies away however slowly, and I hope this nightmare we are currently living through doesn't put too much pressure on any of you financially, and of course that you and your loved ones remain in good health.

Keep up the excellent saving xxx

    Hi all!
Long time, no post. I've been plugging away, saving little bits here and there.

Just before we went in to lockdown, I emptied a cider jar and a piggy bank, bagged all of my change up, went to pay it in to YBS... and they only take 5 bags, and it turns out that I have the kind of account that you cannot pay "real" money in to. So off I toddled to Natwest (my main bank) and used their whizzy clever coin machine.

Anyway, that little total took me up to yesterday.  I still have more coins to cash in, but obviously that isn't essential right now, so no trips to the bank for me.

    Hope everyone is keeping well!
