Thanks guys. It's hard because it's not that she's unkind or anything but she's so disappointed in her life that it just makes her very draining to be around.
I usually only visit at New Year for a couple of days because it's so intense. I do ring her nearly every day though.LBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.310 -

Got to go to the Health Centre to collect prescriptions. Absolutely horrible day but we'll have to go.
Ask the health centre if they deliver prescriptions straight to the pharmacy for you. Ours uses an App called Patient Access. You use it to order medications and they send the medications to the phramacy for you.
If not Boots run a similar scheme as do many other pharmacies.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -

Afternoon all,
Lovely to catch up with everyones news.
We had a nice Christmas day, I was a little worried about it but it worked out well and we had lovely blue skies which meant we were able to get out for a couple of walks by the beach when we needed a bit of space!
The only think I missed about doing xmas at ours was...... the left overs!!
Since Christmas day its been lots of film watching, eating chocolate and relaxing.
We were gifted some money by my parents which we weren't expecting, this has meant that dh has finally made a decision about which headphones he wanted (Been looking since Oct) and I decided to order the dehumidifier (oh the glamour eh?!! ) I ordered the one that Clf linked for me - thanks againand the price had gone done a bit too
(and I went through topcashback)
Today I had a lovely lie in, we've had a walk around the block as it was nice and dry and finished watching The Crown on netflix (we signed up for a month and will cancel before renewal as we already have amzn prme and n0wtv)
All meals today from stores (And I didn't take my purse on our little walk so as not to spend anything!)
Breakfast was porridge, lunch was crackers, cheese and pate
and I'm about to put in a pasta bake to have with some gammon for tonight
I've still no idea what day it is but its lovely not having to be anywhere or do anything to anyone elses time table
Clf - I hope your family visit goes well.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Aargh, the drain hole thing at the back of the fridge had blocked, which meant water all over the bottom of the fridge under (and inside) the veg and salad drawers. Chilly job mopping all that up! The newspaper I use to line the salad drawers was soaking wet, so I had to remove and replace it and wipe the drawers out. The sogginess had caused a couple of tomatoes to go mouldy plus the end of a cucumber  Not moneysaving. Now in the compost. Not sure when this happened, as I am quite good at checking for this issue - with the fridge being so full over Christmas I suppose! All sorted now though.
Operation sprout use-up will be in operation over the coming week!0
