I was thinking of Lame Wolf when I was out with Rosie yesterday (winter solstice).

Yes I was thinking that as well. LameWolf see we still care about you!

    Welcome back Froddington

I typed a long post earlier then lost it.
Things going surprisingly well. Yesterday I finally completed the whole list (mine) including booking a car service for Jan, printing off bus and train times for today's trip to the ballet (Mum, Mr N and I gave each other the trip as our present), went to Mr S for last shopping, put out Christmas cards/gifts for postman and milkman.
    All downstairs vacuumed.
Spare room made up for BIL.
Last minute decision to make a flower arrangement for BIL, did that late last night.
Cooked this evening's lasagne while I was doing last night's meal, so we can just put it in the oven to warm through when we get back from London later today, by which time BIL will have arrived hopefully.
All presents done as well as they are going to be.
    All cards delivered.
Beef, turkey joint and Christmas pudding out of the freezer.
Various flower arrangements round house checked and sprayed.
Had a glance at the Psalm I am reading for the midnight service tonight.

Have a lovely time everyone, hugs to all but especially to those in particular need and whose situation is not pleasant. x

Merry Christmas Eve to all Flyladies!

I rather suspect most will be busier today and tomorrow than they normally are, so I hope all of you get some time to yourselves and manage a bit of quality control on the mince pies. (Mine look awful but taste fab, and I don't normally even like them.) Sorry I haven't been contributing but things have been ridiculously busy and I just haven't had the time or energy to post. Missed you. Thank you for the Christmas cards, they're lovely.

The cake was marzipanned yesterday and will be iced today. I've cheated and bought ready rolled icing, not something I've ever done before but I've run out of time and basically I can't be ar*ed any more making work for myself because I think I should do things from scratch, ie properly, when let's be honest most of the household's pretty merry by the time the cake gets wheeled out and can't tell the difference anyway.

The house looks a lot better than it ever has before largely because of the help I've had over the years from Flyladies, past and present, so thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I honestly don't know where I'd be without you.
    Better is good enough.

Happy Christmas to all the flyers.

Popped up shop, dailies are done, prep done for tomorrow. May watch a film now and wait for family and my dogs to return home.

been out on errands - absolutely astounded by how quiet the shops are - but I've forgotten Hollandaise so back out later.

  • He's redone the kitchen, so it's not looking that bad now [strike]even with all the unnecessary foods cluttering up the countertops[/strike].

I've cleaned the shower room and checked the freezer, as there are some rather good reductions in the Co-op round the corner - he's made it quite neat and almost - bar the ability to label things and keeping others in the original bulky packaging - follows my logical system. Which means there's space for YS ingredients, so he's psyching himself up for a final trip.

Can't wait to be sat down with a drink and no need to move again.

Hello Flyladies; I don't think I've posted for several months - been dealing with a lot of fallout with both DH's and my own health issues, and tbh, struggling to not let the bungalow fall into total middendom.

I'm also even more deaf than before, which makes for some fairly surreal conversations at home, as DH speaks very softly at the best of times, so I usually end up having to guess what he's said.

I'm still dogsitting, which is the only thing saving my sanity; currently between dogs, but I have two coming in on Sunday and staying over New Year, so looking forward to that.

But I did want to just pop by and wish you all a Happy Xmas; whether or not you're celebrating, have a lovely day tomorrow; and may 2020 be a GOOD year for us all.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Aww, we've missed you, Wolfie. Enjoy Yule, and, as soon as you feel able to, we're here for you to talk about anything, whether it's flying related or not.

That'll teach me to be complacent and think I had everything under control. . . . Lovely ballet then on the train home Mr N had a call from care home to say MIL taken into hospital. So quickly home, heated dinner , shovelled it down and he and BIL set off for hospital. Luckily we persuaded them to take her to Harlow 10 mins away rather than the further one.

    Good to see you LW

Happy Yule, Lame Wolf and MrLW. Thanks for popping by.
Very glad you've got some doggy visitors with whom to see in the New Year.

I have almost finished my list for today - just the cards to put up now, and Midnight Mass later, so if I'm quick with the cards I might get an hour's zzz as well. DH helped with the hoovering, which was great. He earned a mince pie tonight!

I only came up to the study to find the Baloo-tack and have just caught up with the news, FB and this thread (this being the absolute best :D).

Rosie keeps trying to tell me that it's a long while since she had her walk and why didn't she get any of our fish for tea? She has been well fed with dog food and also had some chicken skin from yesterday so, er, no! Next thing she'll do will be to chase her toys up and down stairs until I tire of throwing/dropping them.

Must get these cards done soon as I'm going quite sleepy. Might see some of you at some point tomorrow, but for those who will be elsewhere I hope you all have a lovely day and a well-earned rest xx

    :xmassign: to you all

Well today all I managed was daily tasks, S & S bathroom and cleaned the skirting boards, I did start the ironing but was halted when smoke started pouring out of it, I guess it was faulty afterall :rotfl: I shall get a new one after Christmas.
