I'll be happy when I am finally allowed to sell the property and not need to owe anything to anybody in the UK

The revenues officer is being vindictive and for that I am not happy in the least. I hope she gets her Karma sooner rather than later

So they are being vindictive because they are trying to collect debts that they are owed?

I think you need to take a step back and look at this situation with fresh eyes and then see who is the one being out of order. You will find that it isn't the local council and it isn't the courts.

You are responsible for paying the bill.

The more you say that, the less and less your postings become believable.

    Really?
Karma will catch her up, so why not let it be sooner rather than later? She is trying to make it cost as much as she can, why else only send papers after she has finished for the year?

They are being vindictive as they are doing everything they can to add the costs up, knowing full well I am not in the UK and able to respond to letters and court papers that I have not received. Only correcspondence I receive is when she has attached everything tio the property. That is being vindictive

    Coincidence?

I mean, some people are inevitably going to get letters from her just before she goes on a break. Unless you're suggesting she doesn't send any letters for a month or two before she goes on a break?

    Give over.
You're trying to push your fault and blame onto someone else becuase it's finally caught you up and gotten to a "serious stage".

My Point is that I am currently unemployed and as such entitled to the same discount as any other unemployed person, I have no objection in paying what I owe, Just NOT what I do not owe, ie the full amount.

Your entitled to nothing as you're not a British resident. Why would you get benefits and reductions when you don't live in the house or the U.K.

And by the same token, you know full well that you have to pay Council Tax and you also know that if you are in arears they will write to you. You also know that if you do not respond to their letters it will end up with court action. You also know that you have made no attempt to have your mail forwarded to you. So you have buried your head in the sand and thought that as you are now abroad you will ignore the fact that you are not paying your bills.

Due to this stupidity you are now being chased for what is rightly owed by you and you are calling the council employees who are just doing their jobs not fit to burn.

I have to pay my council tax just as millions of others do so personally I would advise you to keep doing what you are doing and avoid paying until the council all but own your entire house.

Then you can blame them for that as well.

I'm sorry Boo, but sending papers to the court they have to send me copies too, they have my foreign address but fail to send them only to the uk address knowing full well I live abroad. the same for debt collectors afterwards and then finally have a lien put on the property again without sending me the court papers to contest, only sending a letter to say what they have achieved over the period?

Actually youll find that when I came here, another member state of Europe, I am also entitled to claim uk unemployment benefit, but only if I was entitled to it whilst I was there, which I wasn't as I 'gave up' my job, driving lorries to look after my children, which I though was a far better option than letting the social services take them into care. I'm sure most fathers wiould do the same.

You were implying that she's deliberately sitting on letters (metaphorically speaking) and then sending them out when she won't be there to respond to them which is for reasons unknown costing you money.

My response is to simply tell you that it's most likely coincidence because some people are going to be sent letters just before she goes on break, it's certainly not unusual or "vindictive."

I'm not familiar enough with court processes to comment on whether sending letters to the property you own rather than where you're living is correct, but I wasn't talking about that anyway.
