Re: persimmons (I work in fruit lol) - they look like a large tomato, and if unripe are extremely sour and leave a coating in your mouth. When ripe they are sweet. I don't have a taste for them, they seem to be a marmite fruit, love or hate!
ETA - they are seasonal and are in season this time of yearNov 19 CC was: £1334.95 Now: £0!! 1% challenge - 100% Savings:£300.83February take lunch to work: 19/18

Hmm, maybe I will pick one up in Aldi tomorrow and try one :rotfl:0 -
1/17 - mismatched lunch today of kale, avocado, homemade salsa, flatbreads and houmous.
I even managed to bring in breakfast.
Happy as I would normally want to buy a treat on a Friday!
Thanks, Purplemumof2.0 -

Had intended to bring leftovers from last night's dinner for lunch today, but actually there weren't any on the end! I had bought a bunch of those little snack boxes that you buy on airplanes from a discount website a while ago, so grabbed one of those today as I was once again in a flap! Will be better organized next week when it's back to a normal working week.

That is genuinely the first I have heard of a persimmon lol, what are they like?
Oooh - Persimmons are just a bit lovely. They're sometimes called 'Sharon Fruit'
They're usually a bright orange kind of colour and they're a winter fruit so I think their season is something like October to Feb0 -
I so need to do this! 1 / 2 shop lunches a week keep sneaking in making £10-£20 dents!
I have 20 days at work so going for 20/20!
I bulk cook quorn , tomatoes & beans and buy a lump of cheddar to grate on top. So easy - no excuses for laziness really!LBM November 2019

Is it okay to join? I've only just found this thread. I'm working 19 days this month. I have completed 2 days by bringing a chicken stir fry type thing with thai green curry sauce. I'll do a fresh shop this weekend so I have something for next week.Savings £8,865.22 £/15,000 Aiming to save enough for a house deposit.0
