Sorry for wandering in to the TFL staff forum.
Seems to be a habit of yours, wandering into places uninformed.

    Dear god,

Part of my point was yes, i admitted to not seeing the signs. I was eluding this the fact that it seems unfair to punish first time offenders who have despite the oversight have been happy pay the £12.50.

That doesn’t mean that I am oblivious to all safety related traffic signs. Jeez! Not seeing a small green sign that has only been a thing since April and is knit widely publicised outside of London is a bit different to not knowing wha a red traffic light is or what a stop sign is. So for those having a go at my driving........wind your necks in.

But they are not small! Unless you are looking through the wrong end of a telescope?

It's always someone elses fault isn't it?
Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.

Typical petulant child attitude of new posters around here. Don't like they answers they get even when they're the correct ones so start with the name calling.

    Pathetic.

People are clearly looking for advice. They clearly did not know about the ULEZ scheme (it is not a coincidence that most fines are issued to people who live outside London). You are just trying to wind them up by saying the equivalent of "Oh, you are just blind or stupid". If you cannot help then just move on. Don't be provocative and then complain that your unhelpful comments are not appreciated.

It's just not on, we should be supporting the OP. Just because everybody else can deal with the ULEZ doesn't mean he should be punished for not. Anyway, shift change is soon so we can all go back to TFL'ing our hearts out.

However, as both our cars are road tax exempt,

    S.

Since when has road tax been linked to ULEZ?

Better not get a new diesel car as they all attract road tax. Even the ULEZ ones...:rotfl:

Very nice of Malcolm to sign up to MSE today to champion your cause OP. A 'friend' of yours perhaps?

Well if the Original rudeness and condescending comments were not made in the first place then I wouldn’t have dishes it back.

As as for not chump who thinks I’m getting friends on here to fight my corner, that’s hilarious. Bear in mind most of us have better things to do that that.

Not as hilarious as your claim that TFL employees were responding to your opening post simply because the responses didn't state what you wanted.

Things such as finding websites to help educate you as to the meaning of certain road signs perhaps?

I've.driven into parts of London about 20 times in 30 years.

I made one mistake, paying the congestion charge without looking up details first, and it turned I needn't have, as I only drove along part of the border.

Since then, I check in advance, whether the congestion zone has extended in area or hours of operation, plus details of the ULEZ.

In my view, there are objections to be made about the principles of the way these work, with discounts for the locals, who.for the moment want to try and charge me more for one visit than they want to pay themselves in several weeks or even a year, yet they are the ones causing the problems day to day.

But it's there all the same, so act accordingly.

It's possible to pay in advance or a day or so afterwards, so even those who didn't know have a chance to see all the signs, research and pay.

Figure out the cheapest fastest way to pay the fine, and do it. It's only once in a life, and you know next time.
