Sounds like a hectic week MT. Well done on the 10k that’s really impressive. I’ve just had a bath, coloured my hair and put a face mask on! I’m sat watching Silent Witness with a bottle of AF beer  January is such a long month :(

Enjoy the rest of the weekend xx

    Thanks Happy and Pink :)
Slept quite well last night, unsurprisingly.
Had a lie in until 7 this morning but am up now and planning the day.
Quite a bit to do so here's a little list....

    1. Walk the dog x3 including one long one
    2. Gym to do a recovery run of no more than 5k with maybe a bit of cycling etc thrown in
    3. Quick sun bed to keep my psoriasis at bay (not had one for ages)
    4. Write overview doc for govs
    5. Update action plan for govs
    6. Change bed (in the machine now)
    7. Make veggie sausage casserole and mash for tea today and tomorrow
    8. Put the clean washing away
    9. Little bit of ironing
    10. Sort nails and eyebrows

Started watching the new series of Grace and Frankie on Netflix last night - I've enjoyed the other series and this one seems quite good too. Just 30 min episodes so easy to dip in and out of.
Right, need to get on with the day. Dog walk no 1 coming up in freezing fog - lovely ..... ;)
  • Morning MT, you're an early bird this morning. I've been up since 7am, I wish I could at least manage another hour extra in bed at the weekend.......it's been a productive hour, I'm on the lap top in bed doing some work, which will save me a couple of hours tomorrow. Hoping to get a work out in later and then a dog walk with my friend but we'll see.

    Have a good day x

Hi Happy, hope you've had a good day?

I've managed everything on the list apart from making the casserole, will do that in a while for tea.
The school work took ages but I'm pleased with the finished articles so that's a good job out of the way. I've written a list of school stuff that needs doing this week and feel fairly up to date for once.
Went to the gym this morning and did an easy paced 5km that felt really surprisingly comfortable after yesterday's exertions, followed by a bit of cycling too for good measure. I've taken the dog for a long walk this afternoon too so had plenty of exercise - even if the walk was shrouded in thick fog still - thought it would lift but it's been lingering all day.

Going to watch a bit more Grace and Frankie and then make a nice big hearty tea :)

Ooh thanks for the reminder, a whole new series of Grace and Frankie to watch and OH is away most of the week so I will ration myself. Fabulous. Was delighted to hear that they are already working on a further series as it's one of my favourite shows.
You've been very productive as always - spent my day sorting bits of stuff out for the house, a new chair for the office, made some cushion covers and OH is happily swearing as he puts up shelves that have stood waiting since the end of last year.
Have a whole list of 'things to sort out' this week - it includes the cupboard under the stairs, the filing cabinet and boxes of belongings from my late mother. When I achieve it - i'm not even allowing the possibiity of 'if' as it must all be sorted or it will just maunder on - I have a half bottle of pink prosecco with my name on it. I am not doing dry January - merely drier January.
Has pup's tummy completely settled now?

Im back too. Had a really rough 3 months, had a accident so I can't drive (which means extra expense and even worse not getting to Aldi so my shopping bugets gone up massively) tomorrow I will find out if I can drive again.

We have been battered in January every which way fiancially so I am back as I know if I am not careful I will slip into bad habits. Loved Ops original post title which is why I am posting not just lurking cause I know I am not the only one back..Now going to read this entire thread!

  • Hi MT, had a lovely day thank you. Been out a lovely two hour dog walk with my friend. She’s got a labradoodle and a cockerpoo, they are gorgeous and they are my surrogate dogs! It’s been beautiful in the Midlands where I am, really bright and sunny, it was lovely to get some fresh air.

I’ve not been running for a couple of weeks, so MUST get back to running club this week, I must!

Have you watched Deadwater Fell? I watched the first 2 episodes last night, it was really good.

Have a lovely relaxing rest of the weekend x

What a week, haven't stopped and the dog has also been poorly with the canine gastric flu bug that's rife at the moment. He's on the mend now though after a good few days of sickness, not eating and feeling very sorry for himself.
Work has been trying at times with long difficult after school meetings and a parents evening but the end of the week was better than the beginning thankfully.

Had a fairly busy day starting with a dog walk and trip to the gym - a 6km run, a cycle and row done. Felt quite easy today so hoping to do a 10km run tomorrow. Then had a hair appointment at lunchtime so my roots and cut all sorted again now - good job, was starting to look decidedly dodgy....
Another dog walk, sainsburys shopping and cleaning the house rounded off the day.
Have had a bit of a rest this evening - watched a film on Amazon called Unthinkable with Samuel L Jackson and Michael Sheen - good but a bit disturbing.
Have checked the banking and it's a bit tighter than I'd hoped because of the unexpected vet bill but doable - the grocery shopping came to £35 so well within the £45 a week budget. No big plans for this week as work is bonkers with a big trust/governors meeting on Monday evening and a variety of other stuff to contend with - it's only 3 weeks to half term though - 15 more days and counting.....

I was supposed to be going on a group dog walk tomorrow but have cancelled as I don't want to risk the pup passing any lingering bugs on to other dogs or getting reinfected while he's just getting better. I have tons of work to do so it's probably not a bad thing really. If he looks ok I might do a shorter walk in the afternoon with the women's group instead.

Some nice comments this week about my fitness and weight loss though - was told I'd lost loads of weight - I haven't lost that much (about 10lbs) but I think all the exercise and running has built muscle, burnt fat off and changed my shape quite a bit. My belt is now two holes shorter so I know it's having an effect :)

Going to have a fairly early night (got up at 6am) and try to catch up,on some missed sleep from the week.... It's been a long few days.....
  • Hi MT, sounds like you’ve had a busy week and a lot on. My parents two dogs have had gastric problems this last week, it’s not pleasant is it? Hope your pooch is on the mend now.

Isn’t it lovely when people start to notice all your hard work on the food and exercise front is paying off? I’ve had a couple of similar comments recently, and it’s a real boost. I think 10 pounds is a lot lo loose, you’ve done really well.

Are you still avoiding wine as well? I’m almost at the end of dry January, and to be honest don’t feel any different really, I don’t drink much anyway so it’s not a massive change for me, but I have missed a glass of wine at the weekend.

Hope you had a good nights sleep, makes the world seem a better place doesn’t it?!

    Have a lovely Sunday x
