    Happy New Year to everyone!

I stayed in quite happily and watched Brittany Runs A Marathon on Amazon Prime (doing a week long trial for 99p then cancelling it). It's really good, made me laugh, cry and inspired me to keep on running. It's about a woman that's overweight, has an unhealthy self destructive lifestyle and is generally struggling with life whilst outwardly being the life and soul of the party. Really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend.
Went to bed around 11pm but was woken up by the fireworks that were still going at 2am - I might be a grump but they do my head in and distress all the poor animals that have to put up with them.

So, it's a brand new day and year and I'm looking forward rather than back.
Last year was pretty rubbish - all the XOH issues, beloved dog dying, being burgled and the car stolen, menopause really kicking in, amongst other things - so, as my new little pocket diary says, "2020 is my year" :):):)

The dog is still not right poo wise but seems ok in himself, eating and wanting to go for walks and play, so that will limit how long I can be out of the house without him today (he's seeing the vet early tomorrow morning).
So, today will entail going to the gym (it's open but shorter hours), lots of dog walking, sorting the study, maybe cleaning the car if it stays dry and general pottering around. I was going to go the cinema but don't want to leave the dog for too long - will see how he is tomorrow and maybe go then instead.

Right, first dog walk of the day here we come.......

    Thanks Julie - you too!

Well I'm very pleased with myself - went to run 5km today, felt ok so did 5 miles instead (8k) :)
That's the longest I've run in months!
Now I've had a bath I'm feeling it a bit - my limbs feel tired but I'll take the dog for another long walk this afternoon (already taken him to the park for a run and a 2k walk this morning before my run).

Just having a little sit down after lunch before I get going again.....a good start to the new year. :)
  • Happy New Year MT, 2020 is going to be a good one, I can feel it in my bones!!

There were lots of fireworks around us last night too, they seemed to go on for ages. Luckily my cat isn’t bothered and snored her way through them!

Well done on running 5 miles, that’s amazing. I was going to do a park run this morning, I’ve not done one before, but it said on their Facebook page that there were more than 600 people there last year and they were expecting similar numbers this year, so I thought it might be a bit much for my first one! I have done a work out though, then did some yoga to stretch out a bit.

So, I started watching YOU last night but just couldn’t get into it, I might try it again at the weekend and see how I get on.

Hope you’ve had a lovely afternoon and pup is ok.

Back to work for me again tomorrow......
  • PS: Brittney runs a marathon sounds fab, I’ll have to see if OH can download it for me to watch x

Glad to hear Pup is a little better in himself - hopefully if he is feeling like that then his system will sort itself out soon too.
Out for my first run in ages today and surprised myself by being ok. I went back to mid programme on the couch to 5K as I was being cautious but ended up running for most of the time anyway so I'll push forward a few weeks.
Have also managed to clear out the drawers and shelves in the big bedroom, and made a start on the airing cupboard.

Well aren't we all an energetic bunch??!!! :) well done Joey and Happy on the new year runs and workouts.

Went for a lovely long walk along the canal tow path with poochy this afternoon then came home and watched Wild Rose, making the most of my week of Amazon Prime ;)

Have updated the finances and things look Ok until the next pay day in 13 days time as long as I don't go mad.

I've taken the dog to the vet who was lovely but no help really - she says it's either something he's eaten or a bug - a worming tablet, consultation and a couple of tins of specialist food later and I'm £50 worse off. It's good to know that's he's otherwise nice and healthy though I suppose.

Have also been to the gym and done a steady 5k and a cycle on tired legs from yesterday. Fell better for it though. One of my older neighbours was there and decided to amble on a treadmill next to me chatting away and expecting me to chat along. Made me run a bit faster to get to 5k so I could move on though ;)

I've had a sort through the wardrobes and come up with a bin bag full of stuff to take to the charity shop. I still need to do the chest of drawers again and be a bit more ruthless with tshirts and tops that I haven't worn in ages. Maybe later.....
Going to take the dog to the park as soon as my hair is dry - can't be bothered drying it and I'm not going anywhere that messy hair and a bobble hat won't suffice ;)

I did start sorting the study last night - quite a bit of paperwork in the recycling bin but there's still quite a few folders that need sorting through and a bookshelf to thin out. Getting there though.
Might have a sneaky peek at my work email when I'm back from the park - been resisting it so far but it's looming again now and I've put tomorrow aside for getting work stuff out of the way. I have a walking group walk at tea time tomorrow and want to go to the gym first thing so I can do up to 5 hours of work in between.

I'm doing RED January too with my online running group so I need to do some physical exercise every day of January - combine this with dry January and I should be fighting fit by the end of it! Just 29 days to go.....

Right, off to the park and charity shop....

Did my second run today too - adecided to go back to the previous week in the C25K program as although I was ok yesterday I didn't feel like I was completely on top of it. So did the 3 min, 5 min, 3 min, 5 min running one - will either do that again tomorrow, or go back further to the previous run till I find where I am now and then I can progress properly.
Clearing had to take a back-seat today as DC2 needed to get on top of his schoolwork and I had loads of scanning to do for his tutor which I always put off. He only has a couple of bits of maths to do tomorrow so I'm hoping that after that we can go back to being on holiday until Tuesday.
