Thanks Happy
positive comments do make you feel like it's worth the effort! Poor poochy is now over the sickness and now has raging runny bum syndrome! We were up 3 times in the night and gave up at 5.45 and got up properly. He's off his food again now and was eating yesterday so it feels a bit like we're back to square one but he did want to go for a walk this morning so can't be feeling as bad as he was in the week.
Really didn't want to go to the gym this morning after a rubbish nights sleep but forced myself after the 2km dog walk and was glad I made the effort in the end - only ran 5km and a 15min cycle but better than nothing at all.
Did my proper weekly weigh in on the machine of doom and was pleasantly surprised - I've lost a lb somehow (now mirroring my scales at home) and have looked back over the progress since I started.
In 5 weeks I've lost 10lbs, 8.5 of which are pure fat, gone down just over 2 points on the BMI scale, gone back into my thinner clothes, can now run 10km without stopping and taken significant chunks off my 5k and 10k best times. Made it all worth it on a wet and cold Sunday morning after no sleep
The dog and I are in quarantine for the rest of the day - no outings with the groups today due to his explosive bum. I'll take him for another solo walk later on for some fresh air and exercise.
I have to get my head in gear for the big important meeting tomorrow after school so will spend a few hours later going through everything and making notes.
The housework and washing etc are all done so there's no chores to catch up on
It's going to be a quiet day but I think it will do me good. Off for a soak in the bath.....0 -
Oh poor pup (and you having to deal with it), has been a rotten few weeks for a little one. I'm sure your vet gave you advice but I remember giving ours white rice and a little boiled chicken when he had a dodgy tummy after going to the kennels - one off, they are an amazing kennels service and he always seems reluctant to leave - certainly helped with the runny tummy part.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

Thanks Joey and Moneyford
Doggo has been really quiet all day but no more sickness or upset tummy (fingers crossed) - he's refused all food but has just eaten some chicken leg meat, has completely refused chicken breast - even when poorly he's a fussy b*gger!!!
He seems a bit perkier now but not back to normal yet.
The dog walker is having him virtually all day tomorrow so that's a relief as I just can't get out of work with the big important meetingShe loves him to bits and volunteered without me asking, bless her.
Have done some work, fiddled about with things in the house and got things ready for tomorrow - thought I'd try on a nice dress I've only ever worn once because I thought it made me look fat and it's a bit too big nowhurrah!! I'm wearing it tomorrow with a nice belt and ankle boots to give me a bit of confidence with the scary meeting.
Going to watch Vera and take myself off to bed - big day tomorrow .....0 -
What a rubbish week!
The meeting from hell on Monday - really antagonistic and tetchy - a really fractious staff meeting on Tuesday, grumpy senior leadership meeting on Wednesday after school and a huge work incident yesterday (I wasn't involved but it's clouded everything this week). Was soooo glad to see 3pm today....
Thankfully it's Friday and I've survived.
Have walked the dog, done a few chores and had a healthyish takeaway delivered and half a bottle of wine to recover.... I bloody deserve it after this week.
To top it all, the dog is better but has a very runny bum still and has been to the vet again (£75 for the second time in a week) and my back pinged on Wednesday evening when in a traffic jam on the way home from work and I've been shuffling around like Mrs Overall for the past couple of days. It's getting a lot better now though so things are looking up.
I'm so glad to see the back of this week!!
Onwards and upwards.....0 -
Oh no MT sounds look a rough week for you. Hope you have a nice relaxing weekend x1

New day, new month, new start
It's going to be Fit & Fab February.
I've had a much better day today. Feel like myself again, not a seething mass of rage!
Work really has tested me this week - it's been awful, none of which has been under my control. There's real unrest and there may well be a big change at the very top this coming week. Will just keep my head down and get on with my job, it's not a nice environment to be in at the moment. I'll see how the next week pans out and then maybe consider my future there. We'll see.....
Anyway, like I said, today has been good.
Didn't sleep very well but stayed in bed until 7 rather than the usual 5am. Waited until it got light and then took the dog to the park for a good few laps and some fresh air and sunshine - very windy so it blew the wine cobwebs away! We then went to Pets at Home for some new food to see if a change in diet will help his bowels (he can't eat chicken for ever!) and did a quick whizz round Aldi next door. I'm always amazed how much you get for the money there - £23 spent and I now have plenty in for the week. Then off we went to the car wash (the car was filthy and I was ashamed of it!) drove through the car wash (on offer for just £2) and then hoovered it out and polished the inside surfaces etc. it looks much better now. It's a nice car so I really should take better care of it.
A quick visit to the vet to collect extra medicine I was owed, nipped to the little Tesco for goats milk for the dog and then unpacked the shopping etc. and before I sat down I went straight to the gym and did a trial 5km on the treadmill to test out my dodgy back (held up ok thankfully) and a 15 min cycle.
Got home at lunchtime and, after a soak in the bath, hoovered and dusted the whole house, cleaned the wooden floors, scrubbed the bathrooms and the kitchen and did two loads of washing.
Sat down to watch the Welsh 6 Nations match and unsurprisingly fell asleep during the second halfa combination of a dull game and general knackeredness
Been for another 3km walk with the dog now though so can officially have a sit down for the evening.
So.... February.....
The end of January was pants and the stress and bad back for the past few days led to some poor eating, only walking as exercise and wine....
It's amazing how quickly you can start to feel sluggish and flabby again. So, Fit and Fab February has now commenced
It's only 28 days - !!!!!!, just realised its a leap year... 29 days - so 4 weeks that can make a difference.
I have the 10k race on March 1st so that's something to aim for in terms of improving my fitness (can run 10k now but would like it to feel easier and be a bit faster).
I'd like to lose another 5lbs too - being realistic and at my age the days of being good and losing half a stone in a fortnight are gone unfortunately.
I'm going to try not to drink too as I felt much better when I didn't (lasted from Dec 20th to Jan 28th) and I eat, sleep and exercise better without it. I'm going to try to take my make up off EVERY DAY too - I'm really lazy with this and about half the time I don't bother - I have some nice lotions and potions to use so I just need to make the effort - minger that I am!
With regards to other things I'd like to do this month - I need to get cracking with my professional qualification, continue going out with the women's walking group and the dog walkers on the weekend, either go to Wales at half term for a couple of days or have the family visit here and get my hair done and have my eyebrows sorted later in the month and maybe have a massage as a treat.
Plenty to think about then....,2 -
Morning!
It's Sunday and I've walked the dog in the drizzle and then went to the gym. My back is still niggling (especially in the morning) so decided to do a 6km run with a minute walk every 10 mins to make sure I don't mess it all up again - seemed to work and feel ok now. Also did a quick 15 min cycle to round the cals burned up to a nice even 600
Started watching a series called The Stranger last night on Netflix - seems quite good, British based drama with lots of actors you'd recognise. Will maybe watch a bit more later.
Have a fairly busy day today....
1. Meeting women's group for a walk at 3pm
2. Need to record the rugby to watch when I get back
3. Ironing
4. Start professional qualification to stop them emailing me every 5 mins
5. Write a short budget review doc for work
6. Write some cover for a meeting I have with the CEO tomorrow (scary!!)
7. Shampoo the carpet again where the dog had an accident when he was poorly - I can still see a stain in the right light
8. Make either 5 bean chilli or fajitas for tea with some for tomorrow for after a long day at work
Will pop back later with an update but better get my sweaty self in the bath now!2 -
Lots of lovely plans there.
Regarding the makeup - can I suggest that instead of waiting till you go to bed, you take it off when you get home so probably about the time you change out of work clothes. Then you will not have that feeling that you are practically waking yourself up again if you have to do a full make up removal, cleanse, moisturise etc before bed.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

Funnily enough Joey that's what I've done for the past two days! Great minds think alike
Managed to do everything on the list so feel quite productive.
Tomorrow will be a funny day in work - no idea what to expect and I have a big meeting with the head honchos in the morning .....
Roll on tomorrow evening
The walk with the ladies group was nice and sociable as usual and got the dog and I out and about walking 7km in the process. Also watched the rugby whilst pottering about when I got back - I won't gloat....I'm Welsh
Made fajitas and have a generous portion for tea tomorrow so won't be tempted to eat the nearest rubbish when I get home.
Have started the professional qualification stuff - there's a ton to be done and my coach wants to meet/conference call over half term so I can't hang about with it. I'll need to be really disciplined to get it all done along working full time at a job that seems to change by the day lately, I'll do a list - I love a list!
Right, enough for one day - going to watch Vera and have an early night xx1
