Hello, may I join you please?! My first declutter of the day has been purely accidental. In attempting to update my MSE forum ID, I've lost the one I've had for the past 5 years and reverted to my original one, which I thought had been lost forever.Not quite sure how that's happened, but I only need one!
I've downsized twice so have dealt with a lot. However, I'm now living in a one bed retirement flat with very little storage space. Very happy here but it doesn't take much for it to look cluttered. Then I get twitchy although I do like it to look lived in. A fine balance!
Shortly I'll be having hot and cold water tanks taken out of my only deep cupboard which is rammed. So it's time for further reckoning and rehoming. Once the work is done, I'd like the cupboard to be a joy rather than a gloryhole! If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

546-552- wool sold on ebay
552- salted caramel flavouring two years out of date
553- fast acting yeast 4 years out of date
553-560 - Little ones drawers
I have literally stuffed every single storage space I have full of 'stuff' for the past 5 years until it got to the point I couldn't physically add anymore, which is why I have so many items. I am only able to do a shelf/rack/bit at a time because it is so overwhelming to even contemplate trying to do more.
As you can see, I am only able to declutter so much because I have so much stuff hidden away and shoved in corners.
Little one had 4 dressing gowns of various ages. She is 6, and she had 4!
Something has clicked in me this year and that is why I am desperately trying to declutter and finally can see progress. I did start it last year by getting rid of a few items, but now I am getting rid of a lot more and actively deciding to walk into a room, and deal with it rather than just close the door.

Afternoon MrsSD and fellow declutterers, three weeks on from my first post of this year and I have struggled for sure to keep up the decluttering momentum. Combination of working around and keeping the house ticking over due to my wife's random work shifts, keeping up with my daughter's social life, a family day out a fortnight ago (which was nice) and just feeling tired. This weekend has been my first house based weekend for three weeks. And have done some decluttering out of necessity more than anything else. Vacuum cleaner broke so needed to be replaced, so that went to the tip along with all the accessories. Added to that two pairs of too tight jeans, and two t shirts along with a Peppa pig cup and some shoes which are damaged as well as some damaged gift bags. Won't be able to keep up daily with the decluttering at the moment, just need to make the most of little windows of opportunity such as this weekend to get a little bit done. So I am now at 30 items decluttered and thrown away/recycled so far this year.2

<pokes head back in sheepishly>
Well the last two weeks just didn't go to plan for me. I got 220 exam papers in and my teaching days are full so it all happened in the evenings and weekends! literally going to bed at 1.....
...but that's over now and back on the decluttering! I'm annoyed with myself for losing momentum and I can't really remember what I was going to do next, but another bag has been filled! 17/52.2 -
