Day 25
Hugely successful day of decluttering. I attacked some kitchen drawers first which resulted in 1 carrier bag for the bin. Then I moved onto DD's pjs, then I tackled my wardrobe and set of drawers, and then finally the bags of kids clothes in the garage (previously kept to pass down, and then hand on to friends and including stuff that people have given to us but hasn't made it into circulation). I do seem to be making Mrs SJ consider her clothes so I've taken some bags upstairs just in case! Incidentally I also slotted in 2 dog walks (1 big, 1 small), an hour of jigsaw with DD, a grandparent visit for an hour and a 3.5 mile run! Rewarding my smugness with a couple of beers and a curry!
So leaving the house:
- 3 charity bags full of clothes - all in the boot ready for Monday
- 2 extra large sports kit bags to CS
- 2 carrier bags of rubbish in the bin
- 1 bin bag of work clothes to be handed on to colleagues who need old clothes for dirty and cold jobs
- 1 large bag of kids clothes for passing onto friends
- A huge pile of old journal articles into recycling
Not sure I can top that effort tomorrow...so I think I'll just tackle the mountain of kids coats that we seem to have harvested (Mrs SJ will have to help on this one, which again may nudge her conscience)! ON second thoughts Im certain I spotted a high chair in the garage that we no longer need (it was already 2nd hand so owes nothing and may only be fit for the tip).MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......1 -

Spent quite a bit of time tidying my little office and that really does look lovely now. And by some kind of miracle my DS spontaneously decided to tidy his room :eek:Shifting my energy for 20201 -
Had a really successful couple of days of decluttering. The shelves by my bed were full to bursting with books and with extra piles of books in front meant I barely had enough space to get into bed. So Friday evening when I got home form work and whilst DH was making the dinner, I pulled out all the books and sorted through them, ending up with 73 (!) to take to the cs and the rest (about the same number) neatly placed on the shelves and grouped in order so I can find them easily. I can now sit on my bed and have space for my feet on the floor! The books were taken to the charity bookshop today, nearly breaking my poor DH's back!
Then today I was icing a birthday cake for a friend and decided to have a sort out of all my baking stuff. I ended up with 45 items (cookie cutters, baking tines, cupcake cases and sticks etc) to give to cs and to a friend who does tombolas for a charity she works for. The drawers are now half-full and everything can be easily found in the cupboards.Stash busting challenge 2025: 0/100 £0/£100 Fashion on the ration 2025: 0/661 -

A small amount done yesterday.
195-196 a pair of world-class which were old but when I put one of them on I managed to rip it in half.
197-200 more paperwork shredded and moved out to the shed. I use it for bedding for the chickens and then it's composted.
201 remains of a candle thrown away.
Reached the 200 target. I find it motivating to do some daily.1
