81-89: craft items and dressing up bits for a local art organisation
90-91: 2 more bras to charity
92: bag of crafting items consolidated into crafting boxes
93: additional bag of rubbish generated.
Looks like I'm going to inherit an !kea storage unit to match one I already have: it's got shelves! It's empty! I can play storage tetris! :rotfl:
I love this flat but it is awfully short on built in storage - apart from the kitchen of course.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Saturday has been dry & overcast so far & rather chilly. I have raided the fridge & freezer of bits & bobs to make a soup then spent the last 4 hours trying to sort out ‘life stuff’ Paying the credit card bill over the phone was quite quick but then everything else took an age
Trying to contact & arrange a meet up with my two friends took hours  Now have a date in the diary - ashamed to say it will be the first meet up in a year
Then trying to get in touch with my cousin took ages but :j we have finally managed to speak & I have an invite to my uncle’s 80th birthday party - in the diary :T & something to look forward to :j
Unfortunately hasn’t helped with my decluttering numbersbut hey-ho
Just watching the last episode of Britannia II - still have no idea what is going on but still enjoying it:rotfl: Then upstairs to start on the DH’s wardrobe
60 Newspaper - Recycled

And we're back in the room.
Progress has slowed massively now I'm back at work, as predicted.
But I have taken another bag to the charity shop and had a huge declutter of miscellaneous paper work and can now actually see my piano again.
Plus a couple of items left outside the door for anyone walking past to take (gone within half an hour), a couple of items donated to the neighbours children and the laptop stand and keyboard given to me for homeworking going back to the office because I never use them.
Does replacing an item I sent to the charity shop with something I like better count as a backwards step? It's a heavy printers block to use as a paperweight, and has a pleasant utilitarian look to it. Note to self - stay out of antique shops.:oAll shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
I’ve been very quiet on the decluttering front for a week or so after doing it and making the poorly arm hurt ☹️ back now with renewed enthusiasm inspired by your stories 😊 especially those of you managing constant sustainable progress (I’m more of an all or nothing declutterer so very impressed by the daily step!).
I’ve sorted the DressingTableofDoom and donated a bag of bits and pieces to the CS (16 items).
DH and I sorted his wardrobe today sending over 50 items to CS and SArmy.
DH has also been a star sticking to 7 items seek removed from the GarageofDoom - by 2026 it should be clear 😂😂
Thankyou Mrs SD and fellow declutterers - your inspiration means I may manage in 2020 what I have aspired to for decades - a decluttered home! 🤞🤞🤞1 -

:j DH’s wardrobe shelves & his 4 drawers in the CofD have been thoroughly sorted & rearranged :j We actually used the Marie Kondo method of clothing decluttering :rotfl: DH is not particularly sentimental about clothes (apart from his Status Quo t-shirts :rotfl: regardless of whether they fit or not :rotfl: ) so the whole thing was relatively easy - 75 minutes from start to finish :T There is even one COMPLETELY EMPTY WARDROBE SHELF :j:T plus a real bonus is that none of the drawers are full to bursting :rotfl:
Forgot to mention that I have created a notebook record of all birthdays with addresses & posting dates (rather than flipping between Calendar & Contacts on my i-Pad) so much more user friendly :rotfl:
61 - 63 Pair of crocs (don’t fit), 2 pairs of unworn trainers socks - CS bag
64 - 83 Pair of too small swimming trunks, tracksuit bottoms, 18 pairs of “unloved” socks - Clothing Bank
84 - 85 Pair of wool socks, tracksuit bottoms - to be cut up & put in wormery
86 Bag of office detritus - Binned
Great work elsien :T even if you are back at work you haven’t slowed down that muchDefinitely NOT a backward step
you have replaced an ‘unloved item’ with a ‘loved item’ which can NEVER be classed as clutter
My next task is to menu plan & then do an sm shop. Plus go through my birthday card supply & buy the ‘missing’ cards for February through to end of April birthdaysThen the time consuming task of writing them :rotfl: Plus I still need to find a new CS accessible by bus
Will see you all tomorrow, my fellow declutterersespecially Repentent Hoarder & all our other non posting declutterers - you know who you are
we are here to keep you on track in the great decluttering adventure
:rotfl:
Grovelling apologies Repentent Hoarder - we cross postedYou really must take care of yourself
You & your DH have done a remarkable job & MrRH is a treasure :T Are you going to have a party in 2026? :rotfl: when the garage is clear :rotfl:
