Retired in France, a tip from the marie kondo board, is to pick say 5 pairs of socks or 7 for the week and put all the others away.
Then use the 5/7 pairs in rotation, to wear them out quickly. Then when you throw them away a new pair comes out of your stash.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.8 -
I know, I know. Lockdown is making a tip run so exciting! Our local tip is on my list of places to go to after 15 December. Along with stuff to deliver to CS.
1 face cloth to rag bag.
1 book to CS.
Total now33/365
I must resist the temptation to look through the book bags and the clothes bag.
Keep safe everyone7 -

Cleaning afternoon for me, so nothing to go bar the usual emptying bin and recycling. Still drying clothes lol story of my life.
Sane as usual if anything goes will update later.
Good luck decluttering all.

Thanks,Wort. I didn't know it was a MK tip. I tried this all summer (lol) with old MandS tee shirts, hoping they would wear out. All three are at least 10 years old but the quality was so good then that I will be spending more summers doing the same. I will try it next summer with the socks as some are on their last legs! ( lol).
What I really like about decluttering is the feeling of control and achievement and the great friendship on this forum.
RL still being a bit of a pain but I'm in good form so sending hugs to all who need them.
Keep safe everyone.7 -
Haven't been here for a couple of days, had leaking WC , now partly fixed, tap to be replaced, starting leaking during process, but now sorted, but all towels from mopping up the leak now in washing machine which is showing an error!
2234 old tap out
I've gathered alot of stress! hopefully decluttered in the next few days!
Like the sock tip - i decided i'd only have black socks but now have so many pairs but only 3 or 4 are exactly the same so a nightmare to pair up!8 -

4. JUST DO ONE THING (courtesy of bit_by_bit)Tuesday was a bright & sunny day but oh so cold 🥶 DSis went out to P.O. to return a package & then on to sm for a small shop - apparently crowded & manic with hardly anyone wearing a mask 😡 DH went out to sm - bread & soft drinks + picked up a 5L can of the paint colour we chose 🥳I did start my ‘5 day rolling jobs list’ - No.1 finished knitting the beanie; No.2 created space in the spare room for bedroom furniture; No.3 moved several items of furniture out of the bedroom + put a few items under the bed 😉
DH & I finished the soup for lunch & had HB sausage casserole for dinner. DSis had Chinese takeaway.
DH did the washing up 😇
2235 - 2245 Kitchen recycling, office recycling, drinks cans, 5 newspapers, 3 plastic takeaway boxes & lids - Recycled2246 - 2249 Kitchen detritus, office detritus, bedroom detritus, lr detritus - BinnedWhat a great idea wort 👏 thank you for sharing 👏🙂
retiredinfrance, a Tip run is ALWAYS exciting, as are visits to charity shops 😉
BJ & his cronies are destroying the U.K. - their handling of Covid19 (apparently it is taking a 5 day holiday over Christmas 🙄 - you couldn’t make it up 🙄) + the shambles that is Br*x*t + the revoking of Duty Free shopping + cutting foreign aid +++ Sincere apologies for the rant but if I didn’t rant I would start crying & would probably still be crying this time next year 😭😭 Do tears weigh a lot? As I could do with losing rather a lot of weight 😆“..........What I really like about decluttering is the feeling of control and achievement and the great friendship on this forum.” What a lovely thing to say, retiredinfrance 😇Cleaning is just as important as decluttering, moneyonmymindsam 😉You have been having a time of it, TC77 ☹️ Fingers crossed 🤞 that you can offload ALL your stress quickly & painlessly 🤞
Great work oceanspirit 👏 Are you sure you cannot come round & sort my paperwork 😛😉MrsSD ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 🏅
