I like the do one thing motto. Bathroom being done and detective work how the rodent got in....2015 bathroom sanitary ware taken away (kept taps - may come in handy sometime)2016 TV with intermittent fault taken and person mended it so no landfill2017 - 2020 items for collection tomorrow when I'm out, left overs from old washing machine, DT revision book, pack of WW2 replica cigarette cards and shower curtain hooks. Can't believe got to target - realise I will have enough to get to next year's too. Going to aim for 2250 by end of the year so another 230 over the two months. Can't imagine what house would be like if I hadn't kept going and had the benefit of all you lovely fellow declutterers and Mrs SD cheerleading us on! Thank you x7

Monday has been dry & bright & a bit chilly - a lovely autumn day 🙂
DSis went to pharmacy (kept her waiting 25 minutes & then NO medicines 😠) & then into A*da which was crowded.
DH & I went out on the Goldwing - first stop Whitechapel Mission to drop off 13 hand knitted scarves & 8 pairs of knitted hand warmers. Then into the City - DH dropped me off at the bank - PB cheque & bagged change from Terramundi pot deposited. Then off to the butchers where I spent a small fortune - £91.00 but have bought - 5 Wagyu burgers, one very large duck breast fillet, a huge chunk of brisket, 12 veal escalopes, 6 sausages & 3 pots of goose fat. Due to revised road layouts, we went for a magical mystery tour round London’s East End but I loved every minute 😉 I rearranged the contents of both freezers & created enough space to put all my meat purchases away 🥳
I took out a few bits - couple of sausages - fried & added to lo vegetables & beef from last night, 0.5 bit of battered fish & 0.5 battered sausage which I had for lunch + a portion of apple & rhubarb crumble for tomorrow. DH had a bowl of soup & lo stale bread 😉 for his lunch.
DH changed out a non working lighting array for a working one - on the Goldwing. Then the 2 of us did some gardening. Harvested potatoes from 2 bags & a crate. Foliage & compost + dahlia foliage & 3 cardboard boxes + 2 buckets of zizzed peelings etc were added to the raised bed. I also did some more weeding & cleaning of the front path - 1/6th left to do.
Three different dinners - DH had the lo veg, beef & sausages in gravy; I had the last of the lo cheesy pasta & DSis had bacon, fried egg & lo roast potatoes which I sliced & fried. Two hours later we had lemon cheesecake - delicious 😋 & very lemony 🥳

Here is hoping that the paperwork decluttering is swift & painless & that the office desk can be decluttered quickly & replaced with its smaller cousin 😉
I wanted to say a big well done to you Mrs SD - your garden must be nearly finished now, and you've been tackling the dreaded paperwork too.
Back to my decluttering news - I have finally let go of a membership to a sailing organisation. I have to face facts that my sailing days have been over for some time and won't be coming back. The membership provides a quarterly magazine and it becomes part of the overwhelming to do list so best it doesn't come in in the first place.

I have somehow managed to commit to helping a friend declutter and I have a couple of boxes of her paperwork here just to add to mine! I think it's easier to do someone else's as there's less of an emotional attachment however I shall be prioritising mine. I just wanted to get hers here before lockdown so if lockdown overruns I can make a start when I'm ready.

Hello all. Excellent decluttering going on by others. My little contribution is :-The waste bins and recycling went today. It included more cardboard boxes and into the house waste another bag of shed detritus and my torn bra which couldn't get another hour out of, besides which my late DM would have been ashamed should I have been run overThis afternoon I am going to de-fluff the bedroom and hoover upstairs, I don't know where all the dust comes from, probably the same place as all the lost socks go ! There I've solved the mysteryTake care all, stay safe.nanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently8

Arghhhhh - I can't find my retainer - I put it somewhere a couple of days ago, and now it is nowhere to be seen - I have no-one but myself to blame... I've gone through the bins (not nice!!) & taken off the pipe under the sink (also not nice)! I hope I can find it as it'll cost me over £100 to replace. I guess the good news is my house will become very clean & tidy over the next few days as it is transparent and hard to see so will be searching by touch so might as well have a cloth in my hand while I do it!

Evening MrsSD & fellow declutterers, sorry that it's taken me so long to respond since my last msg back in July. I decluttered my daughter's room. Took me seven hours, but it was worth it in the end. Cleared a bin bag full of general rubbish for the bin. I have a load of recycling to take to the tip, but have not been since before March. With Covid restrictions here in Lancashire, you had to make an appointment to visit the recycling centre, and also sort out your rubbish into separate groups. One appointment for each type of rubbish I believe. I think the rules were relaxed in recent weeks but it was not worth the hassle, so will wait until after Lockdown part 2 before venturing out. We are all ok, wife's mental health is up and down but keeping going through these difficult times. You have to. So must do better on my front with the contact, I'll look to keep in touch more and try and do some decluttering of sorts, even if it's through the cardboard bin outside! Take care all 🙂9

Thanks Bit_by_Bit, this is now my motto during this difficult time. I'm applying it to everything i can as I think it's a good mental health motto .Glad to see you again Leelad, and thinking of you and your wife.
2 books for the CS - sometime
I scream pot emptied.
Total 109/122. Because of the lockdown i don't want bags of CS stuff hanging around ,so yesterday I hunted out half used up toiletries and stuck them all in the dressing table and I will work my way through them. A bit of repurposing as well as a face cleanser, a present, which I don't like , is now a handwash. All more pennies saved.
Also I an putting 2 euros away for treats if I don't go to a charity shop during the week. I have 4 so far and lockdown will bring me to 12.
DD tells me she has never had so much spare cash and her friend thinks she'll have enough for a new car soon. She is beginning to get the money saving message! Not that she was ever extravagant.
Nannywindow - you reminded me of my granny who used to say that all clorhe s must be clean and well mended if necessary in case you were ever taken to hospital. The shame !
Mrs SD, have a pat on the back for your work for the mission.
Keep safe everyone.
