1. WRITE AND USE “TO DO LISTS” - MINIMUM 30 MINUTE BURSTS OF ACTIVITY AT LEAST TWICE EVERY DAY2. KITCHEN WILL BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT3. I WILL ENDEAVOUR TO BE NICE TO EVERYONE & TRY TO SEE THE FUNNY OR PECULIAR SIDE TO AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE
4. DAY TO DAY DECLUTTERING WILL CONTINUE
Thursday has been another hot day - too hot for Weekend Willie to put in an appearance 😉 DH did the usual weekly shop. I watered the vegetables & the cherry blossom tree in the front garden, washed the inside of the recycling bin & cleared down more programmes from the planner. DH Ordered in kebabs for dinner - DSis had battered sausages & chips.
1446 - 1451 Three newspapers, kitchen recycling, drinks cans, glass jar & metal lid - Recycled
1452 Kitchen detritus - Binned
Danni, once you have decided on the paperwork to be released do you shred or burn? Both are immensely satisfying 👏🙂 The negative effect is definitely decluttered if you can burn - oh the joy of being a pyromaniac 😉Well done Rootle 👏
Great work bit_by_bit 👏 Your DH gets a Gold Star ⭐️ for not wanting to keep his mum’s stuff 😉
Everything counts newlywed 👏 Can you make an interesting soup with all the bits from the freezer?
garden_girl_2, good luck with your new planting. Hg potatoes are so nice, I hope you enjoyed yours 🙂

Took another 2 bags to the charity shop, but was reading that a large percentage of stuff from charity shops ends up in landfill. Talking of which, did you know that some stores don't put returned clothes back on the shelves - they just put them in the bin. Been watching dumpster diving hauls - mainly American, but some British and Europe and it's amazing what they come up with. Whole ranges of make-up that haven't sold by the time a new range comes out, clothes still with the tags on and of course food.
DH came up with a good point about minimalism - surely it is better to keep stuff than send it to landfill - so we've agreed that for us it will mean minimal things coming into the house and getting rid of horrid/broken items. My M-I-L has some beautiful antiques - lots of Meissen in a cabinet - antique Chinese plates - things like that, and when we took them out of the cabinet they're all broken and fixed with sellotape and big ugly lines of glue! Had £ signs before my eyes for a moment there (could have meant a new roof).

Great stuff going on here.I've been feeding slugs on my new allotment for the past while.
So lots of gardening stuff now relocated and/or used. I'll be back with details later.

Bit of a worrying week as eldest grandson threw out a huge temperature over last weekend and ended up with a covid test on Monday morning and then they couldn't find the results so he had to have another one yesterday and thankfully today it's come back negative but it's been a trying time. According to mum he's turned into a green snot monster now so just a bug. I've been distracting myself by chutney and jam making so the stores have grown substantially since Monday.7

ailz95 - I agree about the CS. Some are crying out for donations but I try to be selective what I give. Clothes give them ones I would only wear in the garden only because I don't like them but still good condition and use the worn ones in garden before going to rags. I'm using crockery which I once thought precious - it may be you that encouraged me to do it. Hoping a few things will go on ebay.Going to take some to H&M to get their £5 voucher. Definitely slowed down and picking up an easel from a neighbour but in the hope that will use up paint and have some painting therapy and then pass on again!1513 few receipts thrown out1514 - 1517 2 items returned and packaging (still to drop off but counting now)7

One back scrubber and one shower scraper put in the bin today.
Still doing little and often and it is still working. Think I will have a weekend off though. Off to the beach tomorrow and it will take me a month to declutter all the sand that always works its way back home. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

4. DAY TO DAY DECLUTTERING WILL CONTINUEEven though I love the sun & heat, Friday was unbearably hot 🥵 Cleared more programmes from planner, watered vegetables etc, dinner was fried pork steaks, boiled new potatoes & green beans. Late evening, when it was cooler, I rearranged the 4 cubby holes in the wall unit which are dedicated to Covid/Br*x*t supplies + emptied, washed & dried 3 of the 4 shelves in my ‘larder’ & restocked in a more sensible arrangement.1453 - 1455 Large bag of office recycling, drinks cans, large plastic bottle - Recycled1456 - 1457 Plastic packaging, ketches detritus - BinnedWell done ailz95 👏 Hopefully the practice of the CS sending serviceable/saleable stuff to landfill will cease in the current climate 🤞Lots of broken crockery for garden pots drainage 😉
Good work Nicnak 👏 Enjoy the beach 🏖 🙂Oh dear basketcase ☹️ I hope the slugs are leaving you some vegetables 🤞Great work on the stocking up boazu 👏 Really pleased that eldest grandson is COVID free 🙂
