2020 - banish the clutter

Thanks Mrs SD,
It was never about the pennies i'm just glad they are leaving!, I just felt they were 'too good' to just put in the bin and the charity shops seem to be completely overwhelmed at the minute. I am grateful for any pennies though in my debt journey. I don't think they will go for much more.

I don't know if this is cheating but I'm going to declutter the fruit bowl of apples and dehydrate them to use later in the season as we had a nice big bag of fresh ones arrive yesterday and I don't want any of them to be wasted. When they're dehydrated they store in a much smaller space too. The oranges I dehydrated last week worked very well and are now in a jar in the cupboard. We decluttered the rest of the broad bean crop from the garden yesterday and I spent most of the morning taking them out of their pods and ended up with 2 1/2lbs of beans which are now in the freezer and also black fingers, broad beans always do that in revenge!9

Oh I feel happy my dehydrator for the first time in it's life is fully loaded, all 9 trays and I have in it 3 trays of apple rings, a tray of rosemary, a tray of chopped chives and 4 trays of mint and the house smells beautifully aromatic. I decided to have a tidy up and harvest of the herb patch too while I was 'in de clutter mode' and it's amazing. Tomorrow, when the herbs at least are dry I'll tackle the sage patch and the kitchen will smell lovely and savoury and because I have more onions than will be used or that will keep so I'm going to de clutter the veg rack and dry as many onions as I can fit in the dehydrator. I like this!9

Boot sale items got collected. They even took the old car seat I was taking to the tip. There were books, toys, shoes, clothes, jars and cups/glasses. It went for £5 but that's ok. Happy to have got rid of it. XSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

Boxes filled, kitchen worktop stuff rearranged and cleaned and suddenly I have some worktop space - not masses but more than just enough for a chopping board! It’s been lovely barely having to move to make meals (the cleared are is between the Fridge and cooker). Surprising how differently you can feel about an entire room just by clearing some space!Hope to keep it clean and tidy from now on! Did all my washing up last night before bed!And tomorrow I might try making tea cakes.... haven’t tried making those and I have flour and yeast.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?8

One more bag to the charity shop, although it has joined the others in the boot of DH's car as we haven't managed to do a charity shop run since they've opened again.
I took two bags of clothes and a half bag of shoes to the fabric recycling point today, it should have been collected with our rubbish yesterday but they didn't take it.
I've helped DD tidy her room and sort out her toy draws with the 'carrot' that she could use my label machine to label the draws when she was done. Nothing for the CS but half a carrier bag full in the bin. I've clearly been missing a trick here as she did it without any protest whatsoever and DS1 has started doing the same in his room unrequested in a attempt to have a go with the label machine too !! I shall consider what heady heights I can achieve if I promise them a pack of stickers each
I hope everyone is well and staying safe xx2025 Decluttering Campaign Mrs SD –The joy of decluttering 204/104(312)💐⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I might try that Jinnyisacat to entice DD to do her toys more often! We still have a fair few to go. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

I've just stood and peeled and cut up half the onions in the veg rack, 5 trays in the dehydrator and I don't think the smell will ever go off my hands but come midwinter I'll probably be glad I've done it!9
