Hi,
I got back on it again today.
Today I have decluttered 118 pieces of paperwork that was no longer needed, 5 spices that were two years out of date, a pair of shoes and a book sold on ebay. So 124 items from today. x

Not much decluttered today
Bag of elastic bands - Library
Jeans - CS
Handbag - CS (this in itself was a victory as SIL brought it for me (her DIL was throwing it away) but its not really my style or colour so instead of popping it away I took it straight to the charity shop to let someone else enjoy it)
SIL also brought me a box of nail polishes (again from her DIL), having only just grown my nails in the last 2 years (victory) I've never worn polish so no idea what colours suit me, lol, tried a few and decided to keep only those I like, the rest I will offer to DD and what she doesn't want will be freecycled.
My biggest victories since joining this thread are:
Dealing with post and junk mail straight away
Finishing off bottles and jars before opening new
All my loyalty cards have been hole-punched and popped on a keyring along with a trolley coin and a folded bag for life and now in my everyday bag
all other bags for life are in car boot ready for big shopping days
Keep up the great work everyone

9 items of clothing to chaz, also 3 books some smelly candles and a pair of shoes. I'm on my own all weekend so am taking the chance to get some sorting done. It's slow.Magnolia Stellata13

1. DO NOT PUT OFF TO TOMORROW WHAT CAN/SHOULD BE DONE TODAY2. WRITE AND USE “TO DO LISTS”
3. LEAVE A ROOM TIDIER THAN WHEN I ENTERED
4. KITCHEN WILL BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT
5. WHEN DEALING WITH CLUTTER I WILL USE ‘Daisy1571’s idea of ‘WHAT WOULD I DO WITH THIS ITEM IF IT WAS SOMEONE ELSE’S?
I had a burst of activity in the kitchen 🤭 Emptied, cleaned & rearranged 3 shallow drawers & one deep drawer - much neater & a bit more space as a few items put into CS bag. Finished knitting scarf no.25 & started no.26. Cleared a couple more programmes from planner. The 2nd half of my curry was enough to allow me a 3rd meal tomorrow 👏 Cooked burger & chips for DH & DSis. Hm Bolognese sauce from freezer for Sunday.

Great work on the decluttering short_bird 👏 & thanks for the word 👏 very apt 🙂Oh dear TC77 - a bit of a drastic way to declutter food 😆 & a big ouch 🤕 - shin bruises are particularly painful 😖 You are now my ‘friend in clumsiness’ - perhaps we should form a ‘Clumsy Club’ with RepentHoarder 😂 Good work on the actual decluttering 😉 - other people will notice .......... eventually 😉
Good work Gem-gem - keeping up the momentum 👏Excellent decluttering day Nicnak 👏
Great work EnergyShifter 👏
Good work on the decluttering ziggy2407 👏 and I love that you have listed your successes 👍 - you are very organised 👏 A big congratulations 🥳 on growing your nails
Now, now stellata 🥴 better to be slow with no regrets than fast with regrets 😉 & don’t forget sorting & tidying IS decluttering 🙂
See you later 👋

Days 45 & 46
Fresh from my assault on the pan drawer I attacked the medicine cupboard, the bits & bibs cupboard and the hallway drawers of doom. Not totally sure on amounts and what went were, but happy to report that I was ruthless. I've also dropped off the CS bag to CS. So some highlights:
- stack of creams/ointments to the bin
- 3 half used boxes of glasses cleaning wipes streamlined into 1
- various wires to bin
- wrist support (unopened) to CS bag
- strips of tablets cut down (Mrs SJ is terrible for starting a new strip of paracetamol every time, drives my OCDness crackers)
- finally found the charger to a kids mini trike. Trike is now ready for friends donation
For today I really want to tackle a shelving unit that I keep threatening. I also really need to get Mrs SJ on board to tackle her clothes and DD's clothes. At the moment she's totally ignoring the subtle hints, but I am wondering if she's ignoring the hints on person to wind me up! She's probably waiting for me to just say "Sort your ****** (insert whatever word is suitable for a Sunday morning) out", and then she'll reply with a gentle "Ok"!

Hi allSorry MrsSD I don't use the grill pan that much, ( I use the halogen oven ) I just haven't cleaned it for quite a while. Oh the shame !.Nothing to report here as we have had a tummy bug for the last couple of days. DH had it first and had to share
. We're hopefully on the mend now and waiting for some decent weather as DH wants to sort out his shed
He says there are lots of things in there that he has kept for Justin and he will probably never use ! This decluttering thing must be rubbing off onto him too, either that or I've worn him down
Take care allnanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently12
