"£180 worth" of wine probably costs them under £50 delivered, so they would rather send out wine hoping they get some extra custom at their Virgin Wines company rather than offering a cash incentive which would cost them more.xlnc99 said:£180 worth of wine is an odd perk. Got an email back today from Virgin - they rejected my OD request of £500. Usual response, referred me to credit files0

Yes, they probably got some deal with the wine supplier (or their own supplier i did not no they had). £180 is the advertised price but in reality they defo get it for cheaper. To be honest, most people would prefer cash and how many people in the UK dont drink for religious or other purposes. Come to think of it, itsa pretty poor incentive. Vouchers or cash would have been better.SJshah said:

I wanted it for Christmas presents. Wine from an unknown shop is a little more exotic than the supermarket. Only got the code today. If it's just a freebie that my husband drinks himself it's not worth that much to me as he drinks cheaper wine than I'd buy for presents and prefers beer anyway 🤔 yes I'd have preferred a cash incentive too! All the birthdays I'd buy wine for are near Christmas too. Bah humbug.
I got a big discount on my virgin media bill though, mentioning the virgin offer. I don't know if staff are authorised to give £15 a month discount to all existing customers or if the virgin offer helped?0 -
Most wine keeps for 12 months. Some gets even better with age.goatfaced said:I wanted it for Christmas presents. Wine from an unknown shop is a little more exotic than the supermarket. Can anyone confirm the link to the landing page for claiming the wine please?
My complaint has resulted in a wine code, a rejection of the complaint as they believe the email was sent (I was monitoring my spam folder at that time and I am certain it was not and I think their "evidence" is flimsy as they are unable or unwilling to resend the email) but they are unable to tell me how to claim it. Unbelievable.
I really wanted this account to work, especially with the overseas-friendly debit card, but I'm not sure I can put up with this level of customer service.0 -
I don’t think many on here are likely to use the account as a proper current account. I’m certainly not. However I will keep it for the free overseas use unless I need it for a switch.gwapenut said:Can anyone confirm the link to the landing page for claiming the wine please?

Their service on the phone line has been quite good in my opinion from about 5 calls I've made, until my last phone call where the service was absolutely terrible. Since they're Scottish, I believe it depends on how much whiskey they've had the night before."Real knowledge is knowing the extent of one's ignorance."1 -
I also ordered on the 22nd December and the wine arrived today. You should receive an e-mail from DHL on the day the wine is being delivered.Brewer20 said:
Still waiting here but only ordered 22nd Dec and I suppose Christmas has got in the way a bit. If it's not here by the first week in January I'll give them a callevanescent said:
It looks like one day made a big difference. I ordered it on the 17th and it arrived today 30 Dec, but at least it was in 2020Aidanmc said:evanescent said:Hello. How long does it take for the reward wine to arrive? I got the voucher code on 17 Dec and ordered the wine the same day. I didn't receive any email confirmation of the order though.Ordered on evening of 16th Dec, received wine 21st Dec.Delivered by DPD, only notification was on morning of delivery.
.
It also says on the Virgin wines email that you can track your order, can't find anything on the wines website to do that, only a phone number.

It's been a smooth switch, had my Letter today too telling me the details of the bank switch which happened days ago now so just a confirmation really.
Can't fault them so far after an hiccup with transferring money but that was Lloyds fault as the sending bank.
