Virgin Money Current Account

Maybe that's just Clydesdale though not Virgin. Even though - come to think of it - I did have a missed call from Oxford on Tuesday (ending in 604) could have been them.pafpcg said:
Now sit back and wait for the phone call from Clydesdale security department on Clydebank demanding to know why you've opened more than one sole account!
That's what happened a week after my partner opened a second VM current account (already had a sole VM account and a joint VM account to go with our existing sole and joint Clydesdale Direct accounts); my phone call came a couple of weeks later. We used the excuse that because the interest rate on our Clydesdale Direct accounts had just dropped from 1.5% to 0.85%, we were switching funds from the Direct accounts to VM current accounts - the explanations were grudgingly accepted.
I'm tempted to open just one more next month. But I'll wait and see any others's experiences in the meantime.0 -

This is going to have to be my last comment on this topic:colsten said:
It's re-ordering rather than sorting. You don't need the app to re-order your accounts. It can be done online, toopafpcg said:I know that you can get the smartphone app to sort the accounts
"It's re-ordering rather than sorting"
With my IT background, I regard the terms 'ordering' and 'sorting' to be synonymous. Just replace where I've typed 'sorting' with the word 'ordering'. In my internal dictionary, sorting is a process which rearranges a list into a sequence according some property of the items in the list, for example alphabetical order on the initial letters of the text string, the sizes of the items in the list, or some arbitrary factor of choice, etc, etc. Compare my definition with the process of how my mother "sorted her collection of wools in her work basket" - what parameters she used is something I've never understood but it worked for her!
"It can be done online, too"
Maybe some can, but I can't make it work! I think I've spent enough time trying to explain - clearly I've failed.
'nuff said.

[With my IT background of 34 years] I would like to say that I consider 'sorting' a sequence that follows a numeric or alphanumeric pattern. Whilst 'ordering' can be done in numeric or alphanumeric sequence, it can also be done in a random sequence, determined by neither numbers nor letters, but by random, usually personal, preference. The latter being exactly what you can do in the Virgin Money app or online.pafpcg said:This is going to have to be my last comment on this topic:

If you are unable to do the ordering, it might be down to your choice of technology. I know, from personal experience, that it works just fine in the Virgin Money app on iOS, and online with a Chrome Browser in a Windows system. Either method is widely available to the general public, as are other popular methods which, I am sure, offer the same functionality. If you prefer to use a fringe technology, you may eventually be able to enjoy the functionality of mainstream technology, or you may never see it. It's a matter of where Virgin Money choose to put their development dollars (/pounds). I for one am very happy if they concentrate on technology used by the vast majority of users, and to pay us 2% interest, instead of also supporting outliers and diverting money from interest budgets to IT developer ones.0 -
I'd hardly say that Firefox is fringe browser but then I usually have either Chrome/Microsoft Edge (new) and Firefox as options. As with current accounts, it's better to have two distinct browser platforms should there be issues with one.1

The wheat and the chaff are not numeric nor alpha-numeric. Neither is my collection of CDs.1

You can find lots of different browser market share stats but I have yet to see one that has Firefox at over 10%, or even near 10%. To me, that's quite 'fringe', irrespective of some even fringe-ier ones.dahj said:I'd hardly say that Firefox is fringe browser but then I usually have either Chrome/Microsoft Edge (new) and Firefox as options. Not many users - to me that means it's likely to be less attractive to hackers despite its failings.
