You make £250 a month? How??surreysaver said:
You need to understand, people doing this will have more than this Virgin account. There is also the TSB, which earnt me £1.90 this month. There are others. These amounts all add up. I usually earn over £250 per month playing the game.luvchocolate said:Am I missing something here? Is this all for £1.70 a month per account?
There is also the possibility of being a customer with a bank of being offered other products which may be of benefit.
Maybe surreysaver has around 260k in a Marcus EA account.

Have you seen the length of the thread on the changes to the Halifax Reward current account??RG2015 said:
I believe the point being made is that this thread has 46 pages which far exceeds any other current account thread. What has prompted such enormous interest for a mere £1.70 per month?surreysaver said:

The question is how long is too long for this thread

I see to signing in an setting up for me has been full of issues. Certainly, not smooth to set up. All for £1.70. i'm about to give up.newlease said:Too many hassles opening this one. Only ever had verification issues opening with HSBC before. It does not appear to be a reliable one so other than access to paired savings account I will not use meaningfully.0 -
Seeing it through to the end is a test of character.4

As a bit of research, I set-up a test standing order from my new VM current account to pay its first payment on Sat 1st August. At no time did the system show anything other than that the payment would be made on 1st August. On Sat 1st Aug, the list of transactions showed that the test payment was debited (after the interest was credited) late on Friday 31st July! The payment wasn't credited to the target account (Santander) until Monday 3rd August.RG2015 said:Just a heads up on standing orders paid from the VM current account. I have one payable on 25th of every month but this month it is listed as a payment on 24 July 2020.
I've been using Clydesdale Direct current accounts for over five years but I don't recollect ever having seen this behaviour in the days when standing orders were used to exchange funds with my FlexDirect accounts to satisfy monthly deposit requirements. All the other current accounts where I've used standing orders have not actioned a payment due on a non-banking day until the next banking day (except Tesco which paid regardless), so this practice of Clydesdale/VM of taking the payment early but not transferring it, is unacceptable to me. Clydesdale/VM won't be used by me as a main current account even if the cumbersome web-site interface were to be radically improved, display functions actually worked and the problems of accounts "disappearing" from the accounts display were eliminated.

If you log in to your Virgin Money Current account tomorrow (Tue 4 August) you will see that the date of the direct debit has been changed to Mon 3 August.pafpcg said:

If you want to actually use the account (i.e. the card), you might want to wait a few days - otherwise when the sort codes come in the post you won't know (deliberately) which account they relate to.cymruchris said:Well even I've signed up for one. Not sure about a second one yet though. Should there be a delay between opening a new account?0 -
Possibly because it was a brand new account when the thread started, the interest rate offered was relatively high, and there have been a lot of "teething troubles" reported.RG2015 said:

Definitely not a new account...just a change of interest.
I already had the account0 -
And the discussion as to whether was a new account or a rebranded "B" account or an existing branch/phone only essential current account filled the first page. The OP thought it was new, and that's what I looked at.And now we're discussing that again.
