    Morning folks!

    ccl - thinking of you

    ally - I hope you're feeling brighter today

    Today I shall be waiting in for the man to come and fit the new smart meters. Ours have apparently stopped functioning (after only 4 years or so :cool: ). I have had to drag the tree forward, scatter chairs around the living room and stack the presents on the couch so everywhere is a mess. Also don't dare to leave the room in case I don't hear him knock (this a likely scenario). - been and gone. Nice friendly chap. Ran the hoover round the main drag after he'd been as moving the tree caused a shedding of needles. Quite funny considering it's a FAKE TREE

    On the plus side I may have a massage later. My masseuse friend is suffering from poor health at the moment and may cancel last minute but I don't hold it against her because she's so poorly. - yep cancelled

    Today's things:
    :heartpuls B/L/D from stores - done
    :heartpuls Crochet coasters for uncle and aunt while waiting - done
    :heartpuls Bring a few bits in from the garden that need washing. Wash them in saved bath water - done
    :heartpuls Tidy garden if not raining too much - done
    :heartpuls Remind OH to bring large trunk back from his mum's - I forgot to remind him d/t meter man being here
    :heartpuls Popped a cinnamon and raisin loaf in the bm

    Will add more as I go

  • Morning all :hello:

    How did the meeting go determined?

    Trip to the big smoke was good and as I was so tired after it, I slept very well last night :D

    Today’s list:
    Use functionality on new oven to sc stock as a trial, will then sc a mea tomorrow, if they both work ok, will take sc to charity shop as whilst I love it, it does take up rather a lot of room and will be redundant
    Washing - question - is the double spin you speak of worth it? Assume it is, just never thought about it. Will try today
    Call company about a missing part. Also register for guarantee whilst I’m there.
    Arrange a refund
    Out to lunch but am being treated ;)
    Start operation playroom now it’s no longer being used as a dining room :D have no budget so it will be shopped from home :A
    Check banking, pay off to cc with some money someone paid me back they owed me

    Think that’ll do, have a good day everyone. Purps.

    Morning all :)
    We were supposed to have been going out for lunch with a friend today, but she cancelled due to needing emergency dental work :( We will reschedule for after Christmas when things are less hectic.
    So far today I have:
    Finished off last brown banana with breakfast
    Hoovered through downstairs
    Still to do:
    Tidy up kitchen, clean worktops etc
    Clean bathroom
    Look at setting up spreadsheet / budget for next year :eek: It really does help. I looked in a bit of detail at my 2019 one last night, and we will have overspent a bit - but not by much. And that will have been accounted for by extra charity donations and helping out younger family members. I don't regret that one bit. I realise we are priviledged to be able to do this, but can only manage it by being frugal.
    Sort out seed tin - I keep meaning to do this!
    Write some Christmas cards -can't seem to get in the mood to do this!

    Lunch will be fridge shrapnel - we are still finishing off stuff that I bought for visitors last week. I bought too much :o But it is all still in date (not that I would worry too much about that :rotfl:), and will get used. The only thing that will not be used, at least by us, is a multi pack of those small packets of cereal as I didn't know what they preferred for breakfast. I gave those to DD2 for the kids yesterday, so they won't be wasted :)
    Dinner will be frittata as I have a ridiculous number of eggs - DD brought me another dozen yesterday.
    Hope everyone has a good day :)

    Morning all!

    Been with you all in spirit although haven't posted.

    Today I have/will:
    * Check banks
    * Make lunch to take to work
    * Park for free and walk the mile or so to work
    * Update spreadsheet to keep on top of spending as I've let my spending diary slip a little (I tend to do this when I've overspent and try to avoid facing up to it!)
    * Check OP/PA
    * Check old energy supplier account as should be getting my refund in the next few days!
    * Look into getting a smart meter with new energy supplier
    * Check CC account and make minimum payment if statement has come through
    * Do money shuffle to account for Xmas spends so that all money is in the correct account
    * Read latest MSE email
    * Go to gym at lunch
    * Make meal plan
    * Make shopping list
    * SHOP TO LIST
    * Snap receipt
    * Dinner from stores
    * Do some more crochet

    Think that's everything. Hope everyone is well as haven't caught up!
    Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
    Current debt - £5,935.00
    Total paid off - £9,665.89 (61% paid off)
  • PF thanks for asking. It was ok. I've said I want to go ahead with the grievance I've raised. I have occy health appt in the new year and he suggested I ask to be redeployed to another dept at that meeting.

    re the double spin - I think so. I do a load of washing a day and every morning it is dry ready to be put away

    Afternoon all,

    Busy day but a nsd (I don't count them (as my spends come out of the relevant budget) but its nice to have a day were my purse hasn't had to come out!)
    Today I have/will
    * cheapo porridge for breakfast for us all (as I've not been shopping to buy the eggs!):A
    * been to the gym and done a class to make the most of my membership (refilled water bottle there) :A
    * re-organised a couple of the kitchen cupboards to make it easier for ds2 to help empty the dishwasher :A
    * dismantled a big cupboard (proper wood!) and made it into a desk for ds2's room, he'll love it I'm sure! :A
    * make kids lunches for tomorrow :A
    * food tonight is going to be finishing off the leek and potato soup I made yesterday with some nuggets from the freezer and some beans I think (the nuggets aren't a normal buy it was from when one of the boys fussy eating friends was over but I now want the space in the freezer for xmas )
    * dvds I'd ordered for the kids from cex have arrived so I've wrapped them in some birthday wrapping paper :A as I'm not buying more paper to do these (just my gift left to wrap when its delivered this afternoon and that will be done in the birthday paper too - :A once these wrapping papers are used up I'm just going to buy brown paper instead which can go in the recycling or gift bags when I have them.
    * moved the printer into a cupboard so that it can be downstairs near the computers for the kids to have easy access to for school stuff (I scan ds2s homeworks in, as he often makes a mess of his work and so its good to be able to print off a fresh copy once he's actually got his thoughts down if that makes sense) :A
    * washing needs putting away off the heater airer :A
    :A Photos taken of our dvds cupboard so that we don't buy duplicates! (like dh did with a book the other day!) :A

    Thats it for now. Take care all,

    Ditty good to read that you're healing well.

    Dh is on annual leave tomorrow and Friday so I might not get back to post on here but our "small things" will be
    * going to the gym to make the most of our memberships
    * calling into aldee with our list, (I've managed to put this shop off all week :) )
    * going to the cinema (once maybe twice over the next couple of days) using the gift cards bought with last years xmas money from the inlaws
    * usual things like, heating off as long as possilbe, making sure the sockets are all off that can be off, boiling only enough water for our drinks, eating from stores, washing at 30 degrees, making kids packed lunches etc
    * go for a walk during the day light and posting the local xmas cards rather then driving or posting through royal mail
    * swapping some coloured ikea boxes with my mum so that we can both have a change in colour scheme
    I think thats about it!
    Take care all

    I woke up at 4.29 and got up at 5.41. Rubbish.
    Anyway, I have had some coffee, put the dishwasher on and looked at the news online. Today's list is as follows:
    More coffee!
    Breakfast will be porridge, a piece of fruit and some yogurt, as usual
    I have a doctor's appointment at 9.20, and will walk -free exercise and it is a pain trying to park there anyway!
    Need to buy more Christmas cards - OH and I wrote most of them last night (you should have heard the grumbling :rotfl:), but need a few more. I obviously bought one packet too few in the sales last year. I will buy some from the local hospice charity. I also need a couple more items, but will buy only those.
    Post Christmas cards using free stamps from RM surveys :D
    Find an item from my sales stock which someone has asked for. Only £3, but it all helps!
    Find another item which has sold on ebay. Will pack and post it today if they pay in time

    My sales unit will need to be tidied, and hopefully add some more stock
    Vote!!
    Food will be from home, I want to clear the fridge, so will try to persuade OH that we don't need to cook more food today!

    Morning Dawn :D I've been up for an hour. Not too bad for me over recent weeks, but have been waking up earlier again this last week. Hope I don't start getting up earlier and earlier! Last month one night I went to sleep at 12 and woke up at 1.45! :eek:

    The naughty Elf has made pancakes for madam's breakfast :D
    Today:

    * load of washing & double spin
    * TOMM
    [STRIKE]* finish the tie[/STRIKE] - I made it :j looks really good! :cool: just need to hand stitch it closed
    [STRIKE]* finish baby bag [/STRIKE]& kimono present for bff for xmas
    * Iron & cut out fabric for madam's dress. Need to be doing this while she's still at school/evenings to get it done before the big day without her knowledge!
    * take dog for nice long walk
    * all meals from stores - need to look in freezer/fridge and work out what's for dinner tonight ;)
    * NSD - although I do need to get a couple more presents....
    * go vote - will leave for school early and take madam so she has the experience!

    Ok think that will keep me busy! Hope you all have a great day
