    Hi December Devotees,

Feeling miserable. :( Going to try to shake it off with some productivity:

    Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Five:

    * Checked online banking.

    * Checked Loyalty Points.

    * Made a quick cheat's lasagne for dinner using random fridge scraps. (Meat etc is cooked in a frying pan, pasta sheets cooked in a saucepan. Instant cheese sauce granules used. Combined at point of serving.)

    * Purged email box of junk. Unsubscribed from some cr*p.

    * Backed up Finances spreadsheet in cyberspace.

    * Cancelled a free trial before it converts into a Direct Debit.

    * Continued my Challenge 500 miles challenge to travel 500 miles for free before the end of 2019: walking, hiking, climbing, cycling, running and swimming. I'm up to 479/500.

    * Closed a savings account as the rate is dropping. Opened a new account. Banked the 43p interest.

    * Sitting here with hot water bottle to stay warm: there's a storm outside.

    * Breakfast was some leftover de-frosted hotdogs in a sandwich.

    * Deep cleaned bathroom and kitchen floors. Back in the day I would have paid someone to do that.

    * Spent 83p on veg and made soup for lunch and a box full for the freezer. Coincidentally I was going to make potato and leek but the supermarket wanted £3 for a leek, so I've made potato and spring onion instead.

Morning :D feeling smug this morning as have 2 defrosted freezers :D amazing how much space there is when they're not overrun with ice!

I did this the other day. Took a sinkload of ice off. Time to turndown the thermostat on the freezer.

    Morning all :)
Good luck re your meeting DNMS
Hope you feel better soon Ally
Liking the sound of all the soup making going on :)

Just sat down for a coffee and a catch up. No heating on atm as I was feeling warm, I am here on my own this morning, so I switched it off. Will have to switch it back on later as I am babysitting and I wouldn't want GS to feel cold.
    Today's list looks like this:
Porridge for breakfast with a brown banana
    Walked dog in between rain
Sorted the larder out a bit
Cleaned loo, basin etc in main bathroom

Folded washing that almost dried outside yesterday and was finished off on the airer. Put it in the airing cupboard and will put away tomorrow once it has had another warm in there.
Made a batch of cheese and walnut scones to use up some fancy cheese I bought for visitors last week. I mixed 2 sorts of cheese as I only had little bits of each, but I can't imagine that will matter. Used walnuts from freezer, originally from neighbour's walnut tree :)
Babysitting will take up most of the afternoon, so will try some painting with him. GS is 2 now (had his birthday yesterday), and enjoys it :)
    Lunch will be fridge shrapnel

Dinner will be some little YS fish portions I had in the freezer, with chips, peas and a tomato :)
  • Well that was a very successful shopping trip. Got mum's Christmas present, my brother's and his gf's. Plus spent my birthday money on some earrings for myself and some yarny treats! It's very rare that I see jewellery that I like so I thought that as I had the money there, it would be a shame not to :D

I also got a specific piece of fabric that I've been searching for to use on a very special project....

Had a very nice day (3 hours) out considering the weather! Now snuggled up in the house with the Christmassy lights and OH having a bath. May see if he fancies an early glass of red...

Hope all are feeling a bit better - now it' sTuesday! I woke up feeling I had been beaten by a bear and cancelled swimming tonight as shoulder is sore. Also I think grazing needs to heal before being exposed to chlorinification.
I managed a day of cover work 3 good lesson and 2 unruly ones - so not too bad.
Will make pasta w tomato sauce w chicken and a bit of bacon - so that will be the third day of my of very jerk chicken from Sunday.
Have very little energy for housework, I think I just ned to rest as am already feeling better sitting down. Face will take a good 10 days to heal though and I am a bit worried about my teeth, but it could just be the impact - hopefully nothing is chipped or broken.
Hope everybody gets to enjoy a bit of Christmas spirit. Mine today was students humming Christmas carols under their breath. I called out and got it stopped, but it was quite nice.

Hi Dawn, no I am quite sure it's just a bit of after chock. If anything still hurts a lot next week I'll go see the dentist or doctor, but for now I'm quite happy to just have an early night and a few painkillers.

  • Ally great to see how well you are doing on your challenge 479/500 miles, when I see you have posted I always look for an update.

We have also recently defrosted our freezers and gained lots more space added to that the same weekend when my parents moved into their new home we were given 2 freezers from their old house as they now have a ginormous freezer. We now have room to make ice cream again.
