  • #47 - reporting a loss of £1859 - from the situation with the stock market. It looks highly unlikely i'll hit my target this year what with the stock market and me unable to make any money from my self-employment business. Still I'm thankful I still have a job and some savings.

#142 reporting £1,290.40 savings for March. Pretty proud of that. That’s a mix of cash savings and additional contributions to my LISA (my main savings goal this year is to boost my series lack of prior pension planning).  I’m not counting any subsequent drop in value of investments after purchase as these will be held for over 30 years so not bothered about a current drop I’m just noting the value paid in.

My credit card is now paid off too this month so I’ll have an extra £150 a month to save which I’m really excited about and I also paid £999 into my mortgage to make an overpayment to cover to arrangement fee but I’m not counting this as I don’t view it as savings

Hi Everyone - hope you are all staying safe with this damn virus going round? We are doing fine here, although we got stuck in the Canary Islands when the Spanish government imposed a strict lockdown on 15th March and our flight home was cancelled - oof! Anyway home now after much hassle and additional expense....and the wife's luggage arrived home about 4 days after we did!
Anyway I'm very pleased that my savings number reported here does not include changes in my shares and investments as the stock market is clearly all over the place - I'll probably ignore it completely until December at the earliest. Hopefully things will be a little more stable by then.
So I'm reporting cash savings of £2449.40 for March - additional expenses included a dental check-up, visiting No.1 son in Newcastle, buying socks and vacuum bags (the extravagance!) and a new electric toothbrush. Next month's total will take a hit with the Canary Islands debacle I'm sure.

Stay safe and happy saving everyone.

    Hi all.

Number 40 reporting £941.07 for March.  That includes some LISA interest.  I've submitted the form.  I've saved more this month due to the lockdown.

    I hope everyone is well.
P.S. It's my birthday (so more saved there).
