I'd be quite happy living next to a cemetery. When my time comes - I wouldn't have to go far :)

I lived next to a cemetery as a child and there was one nearby at my last house too, but neither saw much use for burials. I didn't really think much about them most days.

If my house backed onto a cemetery, I'd make the rear boundary impenetrable, but then I might do that if it was a park or a secluded alleyway too.

There are some very picturesque graveyards and they're good for wildlife, so I certainly wouldn't rule out living close to one.

Perhaps I phrased the question incorrectly and should have specified actually overlooking a large cemetery rather than merely near one,

I'm not sure what difference that should make. I'm a grown up.

Cemeteries are as varied as the houses that might overlook them, so each respondent will have something specific in mind, varying from formal to picturesque, and highly maintained to unkempt and unloved.

There is no way you can frame the question so that it means a similar thing to everyone, unless you provide a specific context, such as a picture.

I'm in the process of buying a house right now that's opposite a cemetery. My partner quipped 'nice to live near my grandparents'.

Probably no more so than many other urban environments/wastelands/disused buildings. Or in parent's case, the next door neighbours overgrown and neglected breeding ground.

I do like a good cemetery - the older ones with the more intereting memorials, not the newer ones with their boring uniformity.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
