Has anyone had any luck in negotiating anything from 3 since the cashback failure. I foolishly took out 18 mth contract in July 07 expires Jan 09 for £28/mth but have received no cashback due to inept phonebox direct offering cashback deals when they obviously had no means to pay them.
Anyway all 3 will offer me is that if I extend my contract from Jan 09 -to July 09 they will credit my account with £150, BUT they do not know what the rate will be in Jan 09 - July 09 (so if £25/mth I would gain nothing. ) 3 say their cheapest plan is £15/mth but they won't agree to put me on a lower price plan for fewer minutes and texts - unless I can get any reduction from them or flexibility or reasonableness I am out of pocket by and were it not for the cashback deal I would not have changed to 3 in the first place. Any ideas?0 -
Same offer from 3 here - a goodwill payment of £150 being offered in exchange for me accepting a 6 month extension to my contract.
This is just retention under another name and considering i'm on a £35 a month plan this isn't a great deal at all. Over the life of what would be an 18 month contract (if i accept it) they are basically giving me a £8.33 discount per month. Not quite the £35 a month i would have got from PhoneBoxDirect!
They keep ringing me back to push this offer onto me but so far i'm holding out for a better deal.
Anyone been offered anything better?0 -

i've got them down to £10 a month and a new phone (can't remember which one but I don't think its one of the best). i think i get something like 500 any network minutes and a few hundred texts. This is an 18 month contract.
i also took the £150 cashback thingy, which means i'm tied in for another 6 months, a total of 2 years tie in."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -
Have just been offered a goodwill gesture of £150 cashback to put towards my bills of £25 per month, but as a result they're extending my contract for an additional 6 months til Jan 09. Hubby got the same offer. Just looking at it as better than nothing, even though it's not really worth a lot to us as neither of us hardly use the 100 minutes and 100 texts and never use the 25 video texts or downloads. Have certainly learnt my lesson the hard way - I got the phones in the first place as I thought that as long as I followed the rules it would work out cheaper for us than PAYG!Be not so busy making a living that you forget to make a life0

Has anyone had any luck getting a decent compensation deal from Three or had the offer to terminate their contract early without penalities?
I am due a call from three tomorrow and would love to know if they are likely to be sympathetic or helpful. I am assuming from recent contact with three that they will be as helpful and kind as they ever are:mad:£2008 for 2008 club member 3360 -
I am 9 months in and woudl have been owed over £400 from Simply 3G. I complained to the 3 network it took them a month to come back with this.
They offered £100 cash back as a gesture of good will, if I stayed with them for a further 6 months after my 12 month contract ended. So at £35 per month I would have been a further £110 worse off!
I am sending them a cancellation letter now (I am in month 9), and will NEVER join 3 again.0 -
Just heard from 3 and both my sister and myself had the same contract with Simply3G - 3 have offered us both £150 credit on our account but we have to sign up for a further 6 months and I have been allowed to reduce my monthly tariff to £18 per month to one of their Mix'n'match plans of 500 units per month - my original contract runs out in June 2008 - they have also upgraded my phone. Hope this helps someone.:T0

What I omitted to say is that I stay with Three because where I live is very rural and 3 has the best reception other providers have no reception here at all. for higher users 3 have a mix'mmatch plan of 1100 units for only £20 - so some of these old plans we are all on are way out of date anyway.treesfield wrote: »Just heard from 3 and both my sister and myself had the same contract with Simply3G - 3 have offered us both £150 credit on our account but we have to sign up for a further 6 months and I have been allowed to reduce my monthly tariff to £18 per month to one of their Mix'n'match plans of 500 units per month - my original contract runs out in June 2008 - they have also upgraded my phone. After several months of pressure on 3 (very frustrating), I have finally been offered (for each of two accounts via Simply 3G) £150 credit (but with 6-month extension - plus the right to downgrade to the minimum contract for that period) and an immediate reduction in the £35 pm contract to £25. Try as I could, I couldn't get them below that - so how did people get £18pm (and a new phone - although I don't need that)?0

wow, after getting nowhere with three, and them being most unhelpful I cancelled my contract (I finally got to month 11), after I cancelled three kept trying to get me to stay but I had none of it, until yesterday they called me up to offer me £150 credit due to me losing money on the cashback, and a half price tarrif for 18 months costing £10 a month, so I get 500 xmins and 100 txts free for 15 months (due to the credit) and I've got to pay £10 a month for the remaining 3 months = £30 in total for another 18 months of service.
so if you are still waiting, just make sure you cancel your contract and they will probably offer you the same deal, and if not ask for it!0
