HappyNow said:Ooh yes, that was quite a storm. Our lane unfortunately got washed away quite badly so we've got that to repair as soon as the weather's fit. House-wise we escaped with just a few minor leaks to the roof, all the windows to one elevation and one door (actually that doesn't sound very minor written down, but we live out in the wilds so have quite a high tolerance!). Did the horse cope OK with it? I hope you didn't ride!
Well done on paying off more debt and losing more weight 👍.
My smilies seem to be OK. Right click where you want it and 'emoji' is the top option. On chrome anyway.😊Drawingaline said:Wow another 2lbs! Well done.
I am struggling with the new forum too. Mainly because there are no dates or times on any of the post?! Driving me bonkers.
Thanks both!
Glad you survived mainly Happy, pants about your lane though (although the one to the yard I'm on is constantly full of pots holes so can't blame the storm for that!). I didn't ride on the weekend but did play in the arena on Sunday afternoon loose and was slightly silly and rode last night, it's ok only almost got blown off twice haha:D
I'm still trying to suss out the new layout DAL, for a technophobe like me it will take some time

Here we are, Friday again woo hoo!
I leave the house way before the postman comes but am expecting to be buried under the pile of Valentine cards that clearly would have been delivered whilst I'm at work when I get home
No debt movements to report, slowly slowly building up some survey points but not enough on anything to cash out and make any more overpayments at the moment, bah!
I have been doing some thing over the last couple of days though as to how much more relaxed I am now. Since deciding to face up to the debt and actively start addressing it my mind set has changed in a whole host of ways. The obvious one is money but seeing as I'm posting on a DFW forum I guess thats a given but I've also changed in terms of taking some pride in my home and garden again, just standard stuff like tidying the garden, staying on top of my cleaning and having sort outs of areas each week (all spend free activities I can assure you). The biggest one I've found though is that I now take some time for me, don't get me wrong I will still help pretty much everyone that asks but I have stopped being so much of what I can only term as a door mat, I don't take on things that mean I end up knackered by the weekend and in need of many a nap, I make sure I am not the only one considering tea/coffe/milk in work and its all helping combined with my enforced TV rules I suddenly find I am really starting to enjoy my life again. LBM was had in many ways it appears.
Some bad weather coming in again over the weekend by the looks of it and no internation rugby this weekend - boo
I hope everyone else has had a good week with no issues and that you don't get caught by the weather. Have a great weekend whatever you're up to

So how did it go with all those valentine cards? I believe letterbox flowers are a thing now too, so I expect you had a proper job getting through your door. Same here obviously.
I noticed the entire mind-set change too once I took control of my finances. Unfortunately I didn't go into a cleaning/gardening frenzy but I did feel generally more chilled and in control of all my life, not just the money. It probably helped that I started sleeping better - still not great, but better. I also think that just the act of putting your circumstances and feelings onto virtual paper is cathartic in itself. Keep your diary going!

Well it took me all weekend to open the Valentines cards
if only, best I got was a little present from one of the moggies in the litter tray when I got home
I think you are right Happy, writing about whats going on does help and keeps it all in perspective. DAL, weekend was a litte meh, weather was not great so found it hard to summon any enthusiam to do anything other than the normal and spent most of Saturday getting soaked and then drying off, some people around my area have been hit with floods though and damaged homes so I think getting wet and having to change a few times because of the weather isn't anything to whinge about when they are out of their homes.
Very quiet time for me with nothing exciting to report ....oo wait yes I have one little thing, another lb lost in weight so at least one thing is going down at the moment
I really hope nobody was hit too badly with the weather this weekend and all stayed safe.
Have a great week!

Well done on the weight loss. I think I might've found it, do you want it back?

And here we are again, FRIDAY!
I wish I could be more excited for the weekend but forecast is saying wet and windy again which stops me doing all the things I want to be doingAlso need to check myself this weekend as I didn't much over and above standard housework etc last weekend so need to give myself a stern talking to this weekend, loads I can get on with in the house (although not after 4.45pm Saturday as it's rugby time!)
Moneywise nothing exciting, no extra payments made so all a bit blah......however payday Tuesday "yippee!" which means the stone around my neck will be gone, can't tell you how much I am looking forward to being able to update that on my signature!
I hope everyone has has a week with no dramas and has a nice weekend doing whatever you want to do

YIPPEE!!!!
Today is the day and I have made my last payment to the "fiend" loan!!! I woke up this morning uber excited to pay it and did it even before I had made my morning coffee (I generally don't function until I've had it!). Massive releif to know that I no longer owe them any moneyI am so grateful that they were able to help me out and I never ever want to be in that position again as even though I have paid every month I hated the thought of being in debt to them. I'm also a little bit proud of myself that I have managed to pay £6.5k off in 15 months along with still having a little bit of a life and having to pay off other things.
Still £30 to go on the current target loan after this months payment but getting close to another £10 on surveys, am due a £15 payment from V*ry for poor customer service (I raised a complaint about how they handled my situation with them which wasn't upheld but they didn't get back to me promptly so are giving me it as a gesture of goodwill) and if I get those two things I am sure I can find an extra £5 to settle that one before next payday ........fingers crossed.
Had a loveley weekend, weather was not as bad as anticipated so managed to spend two hours in the garden tidying things up, washing down steps etc, cleaned the whole house, did my shop and got out on the horse both days which always helps my mood, I'm definately an outdoor type person
Also managed to excel myself with the weight loss and managed 5lbs which I wasnt expecting as I didn't feel like I'd been able to do much exercise on top of the better eating habits but clearly the weight loss fairies were smiling down on me this week
Appologies for such a perky little post this early in the morning but today I really do feel super good also helped by the fact that it is now light till almost 6pm and when I pulled up to work at 7am it was just getting to be nicely light so spring is coming ................and I am feeling a proper spring in my step today
I hope everyone else is good and had a nice weekend, positive vibes to you all today!
