Bramble killing has been around 8 hours (across multiple weekends) of just cutting them back and slowly getting down to the roots which I have now dug up, it is not an easy job! :rotfl:I have friends that run an agriculture store and they have stuff that if I see a shoot of them (for any pesky roots I've missed grrrr) I can use to spray that will then kill that bit off but hoping it wont come to that,,,,,,
I would recomend an hour at a time which is what I did (I can get bored easily doing boring things), filled a garden waste bag and then another hour the next weekend and so forththink getting to the roots is the only way to get rid for good. Painstaking boring, tedious and prickly job but well worth it, esspecially if you want to keep the gooseberries:)
Congrats on having two 'yippees' and only one 'nooooo'.LBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!

Good morning all, happy new week!
I did have a nice weekend DAL but didnt get as much done as I wanted, have a couple of extra horses this week to look after so most of Saturday morning was taken up by going to see them and getting the instructions for the week. Did manage to get out on the horse both days (oof it was a little windy though!), normal housework etc, binned another bag of stuff that is not needed, no good for charity or just general rubbish and enjoyed the rugby, always helps when your team wins
Happy, sorryI thought you may not like the answer
No debt movement, need just over a £1 on one survey site to be able to make an over payment that will bring target loan down to a nice round number and mean I only have to find an extra £35 if I want to settle it this month including this months payment.
Weight wise a little disappointed as only had a lb off this week, soooooo close to the stone though ......... next week definately!
February is here everyone so spring is on its way :j2 -
Really enjoyed reading your thread you’re making great progress :T
I’m sure it will feel great to clear the balance due to your friend. I’m a long way off clearing my loans but can’t wait to have something to tick off!2 -

Aw thank you
I caught myself this morning thinking "3 weeks till the friend/fiend loan is gone!", I am so grateful to them for helping but I hate that I've been owing them for just over a year.....Party time the day that clears :j
I'm sure you'll get something ticked off soon, even if its a just a little milestone, I'm taking any small movement as a win to keep me in the right frame of mind.2 -
I definitely need to focus on milestones to keep the motivation going. I am going to celebrate 10% decreases and each drop into the next thousand category.
I’ll celebrate with you next month
It’s so hard to not wish life away from pay day to pay day but I guess each MSE friendly decision made is a step in the right direction!2 -

That sounds like a great plan for celebrating milestones, I look forward to our first virtual pint together in celebration :beer:1 -
Evening all!
Late posting today as I was having a well deserved day off, knackered from the week haha.
Not much to report though but I did get to the £12.93 in surveys I needed to get current targeted loan to a nice round figure of £80 left to pay so that was paid off but will need to wait until I get the confirmation that they received the additional payment before I update my signature! Fingers crossed I can get a further £35 from somewhere by month end which will mean I can pay it off this month but if not hey ho it will be gne in March.
Did some bits today while the weather was dry, got a line of washing almost dry, did an hour tidy bits in the garden, made a cake (not a standard cake, one that is allowed on the diet I'm following hehe) and up to sort the horse but his owner rode today so I didn't get to :-( (can't figure out the emojis on this new forum!). Wait and see how bad the weather will get this weekend, not looking forward to high winds and rain.
I would say my standard have a good weekend all but I think batten down the hatches and try and stay dry is more appropriate!

Happy Monday morning all!
Hope you all survived the slightly wild weather over the weekend, I was happily crossing my fingers and hoping my fence didnt come down.....so far so good! (that would have a smiley face but I can't get it to go anywhere other than at the start)
Don't know if anyone else is having issues with this new forum set up? I'm seeing posts half written over with my signature randomly in the middle!
Otherwise not much to report, the £12.93 I paid off current target loan was received so signature updated with that "yippee!" and another 2lbs lost so that is a "yippee" too.
Hope no one has suffered any big damage and you all stayed safe :-)

Ooh yes, that was quite a storm. Our lane unfortunately got washed away quite badly so we've got that to repair as soon as the weather's fit. House-wise we escaped with just a few minor leaks to the roof, all the windows to one elevation and one door (actually that doesn't sound very minor written down, but we live out in the wilds so have quite a high tolerance!). Did the horse cope OK with it? I hope you didn't ride!
Well done on paying off more debt and losing more weight 👍.
My smilies seem to be OK. Right click where you want it and 'emoji' is the top option. On chrome anyway.😊
